In 2012, Yin Jianling entered the life of a left-behind child for the first time and spontaneously went to dashan in Guizhou, where he received a baptism of the soul.
The whole school has 45 students, in addition to the principal, the village elementary school has only 2 teachers, and the teaching resumes. One of the teachers was sick and took a leave of absence, leaving a bed vacant. That week, Yin Jianling slept on an empty bed. The dormitory has a water tank that holds spring water from the mountain, and it should be filtered with alum before drinking. The school shows a barren face everywhere, the toilet is a pit, and two wooden planks are placed on a large vat. The school provides a lunch, and at noon, the teacher will stand on the stove and fry rice with a shovel, which is usually used to shovel coal. On this road, Yin Jianling found that there is another form of departure and arrival on the road of life. At a time when she seems to be in a difficult situation, they are still feeling the beauty of life, living with unabashed smiles and tenacity.

My father worked in the city, stood up for his little brother who was fighting in groups, was stabbed with a knife to his carotid artery, and had not yet been sent to the hospital. The father died unexpectedly, leaving behind two sons, one older and one younger. After the wife remarried, she gave birth to a son. Later, the grandparents found that the eldest grandson Li Wanwan grew more and more like a man whose daughter-in-law remarried, and he had a knot in his heart and was speechless, so he treated the two grandchildren differently. Ben lost his parents, and because of suspicion, Li Wanwan lost the last safe haven and had nowhere to go.
In real life, Haohao's father is an old bachelor. For many years, he went out to work, because he was poor, he couldn't save money, and he couldn't marry his daughter-in-law in his thirties, and he wanted to stay rooted and have a child. He worked as a helper in a woman's house for 3 years, and the last salary he got was a child - the female owner gave him a child. After giving birth to the child, the owner threw the child to the man, no longer caring about anything else, he only had to hold the child and leave. An old bachelor can't take care of a child, and he still needs to work. Therefore, he sent Hao Hao to Yuanding Primary School.

There are many children in the school and few teachers, and they can't hold it at all. In a stranger who suddenly appeared, he tasted the long-lost maternal love. Yin Jianling said: "You obviously feel the lack of love in these children. ”
Looking at the children who were abandoned by their mothers, Yin Jianling would shake, "There will be a concept in our minds, mother's love is as big as the sky, can overcome all difficulties and obstacles." "But here, maternal love has failed. After losing her husband, in order to get out of the family, the child became an object that could be cut and clearly stripped out. Yin Jianling did not want to judge from a moral level, and such a choice had nothing to do with good and evil. "Moral judgment is weak, and if you haven't experienced that real survival dilemma, or if you're really in their situation, it's hard to evaluate the choices of the person involved." More than 20 years ago, Chen Guo and Zhang Rong gave up the business of hot pot restaurants and returned to their hometown to build a primary school for left-behind children. The original intention is to give their children a complete childhood, and to give the village left-behind and troubled children a companionship and love. In January 2016, Zhang Rong became a child companion mother in the village, and since then her original intention has become more determined. In addition to living in Yuanding Primary School, Yin Jianling also followed the household visits in various villages in Suiyang County, Guizhou, which is one of the daily tasks of the child companion mother. Every household in the village has different problems centered on children, which requires the mothers of child companions to have special skills. "Take steps, cross mountains and mountains; show your heart, talk patiently; come up with methods, tolerate guidance, put down your body, and observe things." Zhang Rong, the mother of the child companion, summed up such a "methodology" for her home entry work. Of course, in addition to home visits, child companion mothers also need to really do practical things and do good things for their children by regularly carrying out theme activities, coordinating and solving the needs of individual cases, etc.
Before meeting Li Qianmei, Yin Jianling knew that she had a story. "At that time, I was introduced to these child mothers, and I was most interested in her, why? Because she used to be a left-behind child. Yin Jianling talked about a promotional poster of "Child Companion Mother", and Li Qianmei smiled and carried a back basket with her two children in the back basket.

Li Qianmei was born in 1996, her parents went out to work when she was two years old, rarely saw each other during the New Year's Festival, and was brought up by her grandparents since she was a child. When she was a child, because she had no parents around, she was often ridiculed by the children and had no one to take care of, and she went home to cry with her grandparents, but they did not think so, and for a long time she became a little inferior.

Now she always has a smile on her face, the children in the village call her "Child King", and she has grown into a social worker with certain professional knowledge. For her, the job of a child companion mother is to protect the children in the village and to heal her childhood self.

At the end of the novel, Yin Jianling draws an ideal end to the story, but in real life, the group of left-behind children still exists, and the mother of the child still faces various problems. Despite this, the team of women rooted in the countryside is growing, and there are more people like Zhang Rong and Li Qianmei who are willing to become "mothers of children in the whole village", and through training empowerment and practical experience, they are also becoming more professional. At the same time, there are more and more people like Yin Jianling who are willing to speak up for left-behind children in different ways, thus touching and influencing more people. We believe that the road is long and obstructive, but there is always a glimmer of hope flickering, and one day it will converge into a sea of stars, illuminating the sky of every left-behind child.
In 2015, the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation launched the "Child Companion Mother Project", through the cultivation of rural women to carry out the care and protection of left-behind children, adopting the model of "one person, one home, one link", taking the child companion mother as the starting point, the child companion home as the platform, and the county-level horizontal linkage mechanism as the guarantee, establishing a village-level left-behind and distressed child guardianship network to ensure the delivery of child welfare services for the last kilometer. By the end of December 2021, the project will carry out child companion mother projects in 1379 villages in 106 counties in 10 provinces, including Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Jiangxi, Hubei and Anhui, benefiting nearly 750,000 children.
