On February 22, the BMW i4 was officially launched, and two models, the eDrive 40 and the M50, were available at a price range of 44.99-53.99 million yuan. The new car is BMW's first all-electric four-door sedan, equipped with the fifth generation of eDrive technology.
In terms of design, the BMW i4 has a similar design to the BMW 4 Series, but BMW has a more unique look and feel through the adjustment of the details. At the same time, it is worth mentioning that the BMW i4 is a pure electric four-door coupe.
The BMW i4 has a wind resistance coefficient of 0.24 and excellent aerodynamic characteristics increase the WLTP range by about 10 km. The front spoiler, mirrors, concealed door handles, fin design at the rear edge of the roof, and smooth surface underside are all aerodynamically optimised. The aerodynamic wheels designed for the new model use aluminium components, combined with lightweight construction and optimized air guidance, further increasing the range.
In terms of interior design, the integrated floating curved screen with elements of the iX model integrates a 14.9-inch touch display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and tilts slightly towards the driver, which is a new interpretation of the driver-oriented design, with a multi-functional sports steering wheel and sports seats, and the glass skylight brings plenty of light and improves comfort.
In terms of power, the BMW i4 eDrive 40 model has a maximum output of 250 kilowatts, an acceleration of 5.7 seconds from zero to 100 kilometers, a minimum energy consumption of 14.7 kilowatt hours per 100 kilometers, and a cruising range of up to 625 kilometers under CLTC standards. The i4 M50 model is equipped with BMW's fifth-generation eDrive electric drive system, which can provide a maximum output of 400 kilowatts, peak torque of up to 795 Nm, and acceleration of only 3.9 seconds per 100 kilometers. Under CLTC standards, the vehicle has a range of up to 560 km.
