The Swedish supercar brand Koenigsec has launched a pre-production model of the Jesko Absolut. Although it is not a production version that has been developed, it is actually a final version. If the model is mass-produced, it is expected to be able to break the speed record held by bugatti Chiron.
Jesco is the founder of Koenigsegg, named after his father, and is considered the most powerful and fastest model in Koenigsegg's history. After being unveiled as a concept car at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, it is in the process of developing two versions.
Jesko Attack is equipped with equipment that records the fastest lap on the track. In particular, it focuses on improving aerodynamics, producing 800 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, 1 ton of downforce at 270 km/h and 1.4 t of downforce at top speed.
Jesco Absolute focuses on reaching top speed. According to Koenigsegg, it could theoretically reach 530 km / h. If various conditions such as temperature, humidity, wind direction, etc. are met, it is expected to reach up to 563 km / h.
The biggest design change was the replacement of two vertical tails instead of giant wings. The area of the front wing has also been reduced, and the devices that generate downforce from the sides have also been removed. In order to stabilize the eddy current generated at the rear, the rear is lengthened by 85mm. A lid to suppress eddy currents was also added to the rear wheels.
With this change, jesco Absolute was adjusted to produce only 150 kg of downforce and 1.4 tons at top speed. The wind resistance coefficient was also recorded at 0.278 Cd, which is similar to that of ordinary cars.
Since high-speed stability becomes unstable, like reducing drag, a lot of effort is invested in aerodynamic design. More than 3,000 hours of aerodynamic evaluation and analysis were performed, and more than 5,000 hours of Jesco Absolute design and engineering were invested.
The powertrain is the same as jesco. The 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine running on E85 fuel produces 1600 horsepower and 153 kgf·m of torque. The transmission is available in a 9-speed multi-clutch format. It is very light and weighs only 90 kg.
Meanwhile, the model currently holding the title of fastest production car is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which has a speed of 304.773 mph. And it can reach a speed of 490.37 km / h.
