Tesla recently updated the online information of the Model X, Tesla lowered the model X's top speed when equipped with standard 20-inch Cyberstream wheels.
The dual-motor and three-motor all-wheel drive Model X online configurator now shows a top speed of 240 km/h, which is a significant drop compared to before, when the dual-motor Model X could reach 250 km/h, while the Model X Plaid could even reach 262 km/h.
While Tesla didn't provide an official explanation for the change, we speculate it's likely due to a change in tires. In fact, each tire has a speed class, and these parameters set the maximum speed at which the tire can safely carry the load, including the weight of the vehicle and the specifications.
According to what we know, the rated speed with the "V" symbol on the sidewall of the tire is also 240 km / h, and the maximum speed of the Model X now listed on tesla's website is likely to be related to the maximum speed limit of this tire.
