NIO's new EC6 has been declared by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the new car is based on the NT2.0 platform, using the latest family design and equipped with lidar. The all-new EC6 is slightly reduced in length and height, and is equipped with new front and rear dual motors. Referring to the pricing of the ES8 after the replacement, it is expected that the starting price of the new EC6 will be raised to about 420,000 yuan.
Previously, Qin Lihong, co-founder and president of NIO, said that there are 1-2 new cars delivered earlier before the delivery of EC7 (May) and the new ES8 (June). In this way, deliveries of the new EC6 are expected to begin by May. Zhidian Mobility learned that NIO's first-generation "866" model has been cleared and will be completely discontinued from February 16.
The new EC6 has a more minimalist front design, with split headlights, a watchtower lidar and 2 cameras on the roof; The main change on the side of the car is to move the charging interface to the right rear side, and add a rearview camera in the original position; The rear is shaped closer to the EC7 and features a through-beam light cluster and a 2-stage electric spoiler. The new EC6 interior will adopt a similar design to ES7 and ES8, and is expected to be equipped with a 10.2-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch OLED central control screen.
Compared with the NIO EC7, the new EC6 is equipped with a lower maximum power of the dual motors, and the current high/low power is adjusted to one power, which is the same as the ET5. The new car will initially provide a standard range battery pack of 75kW·h and a long-range battery pack of 100kW·h, corresponding to CLTC cruising range of about 500km and 600km, and a 150kW·h battery pack will be launched in July-August.
