Recently, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents, Tesla will recall 594,717 vehicles in the US market, including the Model 3 produced between December 27, 2017 and March 22, 2022, the Model Y produced between November 26, 2019 and March 31, 2022, and the Model produced between August 28, 2020 and March 31, 2022 S and the Model X produced between August 28, 2020 and March 31, 2022.
The reason for this recall is that there was a problem with the "Boombox" function in the vehicles produced during the period, and Tesla allowed the "Boombox" to play music through external speakers during the drive, which may mask the sound emitted by the pedestrian warning system, thus distracting the driver and increasing the probability of an accident. In addition to this, Tesla also announced that it will recall more than 7,000 Model Xs produced in 2021-2022 due to the possible failure of the airbag components, resulting in the airbag not being able to eject at the time of the accident.
To address this issue, Tesla announced that it will send a recall notice to the owners of the affected vehicles on June 7 this year, and after the owners move the vehicles to the dealership, Tesla will update the software system for the vehicles for free and overhaul the airbags of the Model X.
