Recently, the Henan Provincial High Court issued a final judgment on an intentional homicide case. On February 14, 2021, the man Xin Mou drove his father down, and then turned the front of the car and rolled him to death. According to Xin's confession, he was dissatisfied with his father because he often beat his mother and threatened to kill him. The Xuchang Intermediate People's Court found Xin guilty of intentional homicide in the first instance and sentenced him to life imprisonment. On Xin's appeal, the court of second instance held that the conviction at first instance was accurate but the sentence was improper, and changed the sentence to 12 years' imprisonment for Xin.
