Trudeau responded to the truck drivers demonstration

Over the weekend, after a convoy of protests opposing mandatory vaccination gathered on Parliament Hill, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's family moved from their residence, Rideau Cottage, to another location.

The protest was initially launched by truck drivers to protest federal demands that cross-border truck drivers must be vaccinated, and more people have since joined the protests in front of Parliament Hill in Ottawa against the widespread public health measures taken to contain the outbreak.

Ottawa police said the protests were largely peaceful, but there were threats, public pranks and dangerous driving, which they said were being investigated.

Police said they were investigating several of Saturday's harshly condemned incidents, including protesters jumping on the Tombstone of the Unknown Soldier and placing anti-vaccine material and an inverted Canadian flag on a statue of Terry Fox.

Trudeau said Monday that Canadians were shocked and disgusted by the actions of some protesters.

He also said he would not meet with protesters.

Trudeau said: "While Canadians have the right to protest, no one has the right to abuse, intimidate and harass... compatriot.
