On the morning of December 1, Vice Governor Chen Xiaoping came to Donggang Village, Yongshan Town, Leping, Jingdezhen City, to investigate groundwater monitoring and groundwater emergency water source investigation. Responsible comrades of the Provincial Department of Natural Resources, the Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, the Provincial Geological Bureau, and the Provincial Water Conservancy Department participated in the investigation.
Vice Governor Chen Xiaoping came to the national groundwater monitoring site in Donggang Village to inquire in detail about the groundwater quality and understand the groundwater monitoring work in the province. He pointed out that all localities should comprehensively analyze groundwater monitoring data to find the causes of changes in water quality. Areas where water quality has improved significantly should maintain good practices to make water quality better; in areas where water quality improvement is not obvious, effective measures should be taken to improve water quality; for areas where long-term water quality improvement is not obvious, they can be included in environmental protection inspections. All departments should perform their duties, natural resources departments should continue to do a good job in groundwater monitoring, ecological and environmental departments should strengthen assessment and management, and encourage monitoring implementation units to promote groundwater monitoring by declaring financial funds.
When Vice Governor Chen Xiaoping came to the wellhead of the groundwater emergency water source and learned that the water quality met the standard of drinking water (Class II.) and that a single well could meet the emergency water needs of 19,000 people, he was very happy to scoop a glass of water and taste it. He pointed out that the emergency water source, as a backup water, belongs to the source of life, and at the same time solves the problems of water shortage and poor water quality of the local masses, which is a concrete measure for "studying the history of the party, enlightening the mind, doing practical things, and opening up a new situation" for the people, and has really done a practical thing for the masses. He stressed that it is necessary to summarize and improve the investigation and evaluation of this water source, do a good job in the protection and management of emergency groundwater sources, continue to promote the investigation and evaluation of groundwater emergency water sources in other cities in our province, reserve groundwater emergency water sources, realize the diversification of the allocation of emergency standby water sources in our province, improve the emergency support capacity of urban water supply, effectively respond to sudden public events such as water pollution, extreme drought and exceptionally large natural disasters, and ensure the safety of urban drinking water.
At present, there are 1082 groundwater monitoring stations in the province, which have initially covered 100 counties and districts in 11 prefectures and cities, achieved full coverage of 7 secondary hydrogeological units and 28 tertiary hydrogeological unit monitoring stations, and the monitoring results have been widely served in the rational development, utilization and protection of groundwater resources. The investigation and evaluation of the first batch of groundwater emergency water sources in the first major cities of our province (Jingdezhen, Yichun and Pingxiang) basically identified the amount of water resources and water quality of the groundwater emergency water sources in the three cities, and after the completion of the water sources, it can solve the emergency water problems of 525,000, 588,000 and 512,000 people for the urban areas of Jingdezhen, Yichun and Pingxiang.
