On the evening of February 10th, the "Years and Years of Treasures - Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of The Famous Shanghai Opera Artist Mr. Gu Yuezhen" was held at the Hongqiao Art Center. As the 2022 "Happy Shanghai New Year" Changning District Intangible Cultural Heritage New Experience and the Shanghai International Arts Festival Center "Art Enjoyment Shencheng" series of activities to benefit the people, this classic performance showcases the valuable artistic wealth of Shanghai opera performance artist Gu Yuezhen.

The concert began with chen Suping, the head of the Changning Shanghai Opera Troupe, leading the young actors of the troupe to sing an excerpt from the Shanghai opera "Zhao Yiman" "Report to the Party". The whole performance is divided into three chapters: "Classic Forever Passed on", "Walking with the Times" and "Rooted in the People", and the old, middle-aged and young actors of the Changning Shanghai Opera Troupe showed Gu Yuezhen's classic works "Zhao Yiman", "Eight Years of Chaos", "Yang Naiwu and the Little Cabbage" for Shanghai opera lovers in the form of symphonic concerts. The newly created plays of Changning Shanghai Opera Troupe in recent years, such as the excellent works of realistic themes "Teacher Wenhong", "Alley Premier", "Famous Trilogy", "Under the Eaves of Shanghai", "Wilderness" and so on have also been fully displayed.

Gu Yuezhen's daughter Xie Bo, who could not attend the scene in person due to the impact of the epidemic, sent a long letter with sincere feelings, expressing deep gratitude to the Changning Shanghai Opera Troupe and the Colorful Drama Channel of Shanghai Radio and Television Station for holding a concert on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of her mother Gu Yuezhen, and said that "my mother's life is to practice the fundamental direction of 'serving the people and serving socialism'. Today, everyone is here to commemorate her, which has a special significance. If the mother knows underground, she can also smile at the Nine Springs. ”

The performance ended successfully in the new version of "Zhao Yiman" sung by Chen Suping and the troupe actors, and "My Motherland and Me" was sung on and off the stage. Chen Suping said that holding the "Years and Years" concert is not only to introduce Gu Yuezhen's artistic achievements to the audience, but also to advocate her "hard work" spirit. The reason why "Zhao Yiman" was chosen as the opening and ending is because this play has far-reaching significance for Gu Yuezhen, for the Shanghai Opera Troupe, and for the Changning Shanghai Troupe. Performing "Zhao Yiman" in Beijing was one of Gu Yuezhen's biggest wishes during her lifetime. In 2015, the new version of shanghai opera "Zhao Yiman" participated in the tour of excellent plays commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and appeared in the Chang'an Grand Theater in the capital, finally realizing her dream.

Along with the classic repertoire and beautiful melody, the comprehensive strength of the three generations of actors of the Changning Shanghai Opera Troupe has also been fully presented. In 2006, Changning Shanghai Opera Troupe officially became the intangible cultural heritage protection unit of Shanghai. The Shanghai Opera Chen Pai Art and Gu Yuezhen's Gu Pai Art created by Chen Suping were included in the Shanghai Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Project, led by the leader Chen Suping, and outstanding young and middle-aged actors such as Huang Aizhong, Zhang Yanwen, Wang Bin, Zhu Zhen, Wei Minfei, Chen Xiexi, etc. are also constantly working the road of shouzheng innovation and inheritance and dissemination of Shanghai opera.
