The "Healthy China Action-Women's Menstrual Friendly Health Public Welfare Project's 'Ebb and Flow" and "Better Experience" Art Exhibition" recently opened at No. 47 Taojiang Road, Shanghai, focusing on women's physiological health issues, helping the public to dispel misunderstandings about menstrual health and establish a scientific concept of menstrual health.
This exhibition is organized by the Chinese Population Welfare Foundation. In the exhibition, 6 artworks created by 6 emerging artists and leading gynaecology experts are on display, which closely revolve around the core theme of "women's menstruation", integrating the unique perspectives of artists, the expertise of authoritative experts and the insight into women's life experiences.
The work "Tide of Living Flowers" uses a clever combination of fiber fabrics and mechanical flowers to vividly show the rhythm of life and inner strength of women in their menstrual cycles. Inspired by the order of the mandala, the work "The World is Your Mandala" constructs the core of women's energy, calls on all sectors of society to pay attention to the health of women's menstruation, and creates a more inclusive and supportive social environment for women. The works "The Tide of Life - Spring Tide" and "Molting Tide" are based on the womb, and through the vigor of spring tide and the tolerance of Mother Ocean respectively, they express women's self-discovery and growth from the inside out, as well as the unique vitality and beautiful yearning that bloom after maturity
At the scene, Zou Shien, chief physician of the Department of Gynecology of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University, gave a popular science lecture on the theme of "Menstruation, a Barometer of Women's Endocrine Health". He pointed out that menstruation is an important part of a woman's menstrual cycle, which is not only related to fertility, but also an important indicator of a woman's overall health. We call on the society to pay attention to and establish tolerance for menstruation, respect the physiological experience and needs of each woman, and ensure that they receive the care and support they deserve throughout their menstrual period.
The exhibition is open to the public until 11 November.
