"You can enjoy the original works of Greece artists at your doorstep, and it's free, this exhibition is really worth seeing!" On the afternoon of October 17th, at the Guiyang International Fashion Release Center in Tiejian City, Nanming District, Guiyang City, Lin from the Academy of Fine Arts of Guizhou University could not hide his excitement after watching the exhibition.
The exhibition titled "Symphony of the Sea and the Mountains: A Joint Exhibition of Greece and Chinese Artists" amazed Lin and opened in the afternoon. It brings together the essence of local art from Greece and China, and is an artistic feast that crosses time and space and connects Chinese and Western cultures.
It is understood that the exhibition is sponsored by Guizhou International Cultural Exchange Association, Guizhou Provincial Economic and Cultural Promotion Association, China Railway Construction Real Estate Guizhou Company, and undertaken by China Guiyang International Fashion Release Center. More than 60 artists participated in the exhibition, with more than 120 exhibits, covering oil painting, cloth art, ceramics, wood carving, installation and new media art and other art forms.
Inspired by ancient Greece and traditional Chinese culture, the artists in this exhibition connect historical and cultural heritage with today's reality, creating works with the characteristics of the times and historical continuity. Rather than confined their art to the surface, they capture the flowing elements of life in their work, blending abstract art with symbolic illustrations, marked by bold color contrasts and intricate details that evoke an emotional response and inner resonance in the viewer.
At the opening ceremony, China Railway Construction Real Estate Guizhou Company said that Greece artists have created works full of romance and freedom inspired by the sea; Chinese artists, on the other hand, use mountains as the subject matter, showing tenacity and deep feelings. The works exhibited in this double exhibition not only allow the audience to appreciate the unique charm of Eastern and Western art, but also highlight the important role of art in connecting different cultures and promoting mutual learning between civilizations. In the future, the release center will continue to uphold the concept of openness, inclusiveness, innovation and development, and is committed to creating an open and inclusive public art space, discovering and cultivating young and middle-aged artists in Guizhou, and adding more cultural colors and artistic charm to the city of Guiyang.
As a representative of Greece artists, Greece poet and professor of literature Triantafelos · Kotopoulos mentioned in his speech at the opening ceremony that Greece and China are both countries with a long history, and the works with contemporary art styles created by artists of the two countries rooted in traditional culture undoubtedly brought a unique artistic experience to the audience.
"Greece art is different from the more mature Roman art later, it retains the innocence and simplicity of early human civilization, is full of bright sunshine from the Eastern Mediterranean, and the characters it presents are all beautiful." Seeing the authentic works on display, cultural scholar Wang Liuyi and many people in the art circle said that it was "eye-catching".
This exhibition is not only a grand event for artistic exchange, but also an opportunity for cultural mutual learning. Through the wonderful works of artists from both countries, the audience can feel the unique charm and profound heritage of Greece and China in artistic creation. At the same time, this exhibition will also inject new vitality and impetus into the cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and the West.
