On October 15th, under the guidance of the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Arts, the "Wind is Hanging - Yangtze River Theme Art Exhibition of the Chinese Academy of Arts" opened at the Cloud Art Museum of the Oil Painting Institute of the Chinese Academy of Arts.
The theme of the exhibition is a panoramic representation of the Yangtze River. The calligraphy, painting, seal carving, sculpture, ceramic clay sculpture, jewelry, cloth collage, etc., which are concentrated in the exhibition hall, are diverse in form and rich in imagery, all of which embody the artists' observations and personal experiences.
Zhou Qingfu, President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Chinese Academy of Arts, introduced in his speech that the Chinese Academy of Arts actively responded to the call of the times, went deep into life, took root in the people, and carefully planned and organized creative practice activities with the theme of the Yangtze River. In April 2024, the Chinese Academy of Arts launched the Yangtze River theme creation practice activities, forming a number of work sections such as theme demonstration, multi-site investigation, sketch visits, art creation, and comprehensive exhibitions, and successively organized more than 130 artists to go to Chongqing, Hubei, Jiangxi, Jiangsu and other places to carry out the largest collective investigation and sketching activity of the Chinese Academy of Arts in recent years.
In the activities of investigation and collection, the artists spanned the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, from the night of the mountain city of Chongqing to the prosperity of Wuhan, from the wonders of the Three Gorges in Yichang to the charm of the ancient city of Jingzhou, from the heroic story of Nanchang to the charm of the porcelain capital of Jingdezhen, and then to the thousand-year-old charm of Nanjing...... The artists traveled in groups and batches, deeply rooted in both sides of the Yangtze River, went deep into the lives of the people, collected a large number of vivid first-hand materials, and finally created more than 100 excellent works that reflect the style, historical inheritance and spiritual connotation of the Yangtze River era.
It is reported that the exhibition will last until October 28, 2024.
