Denise Richards is talking about her relationship with her 17-year-old daughter, Sammy, who recently moved in with her father, Richards' former Charlie Sheen.
"Honestly, my relationship with her is strained," Richards told SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live on Friday. "It's very difficult. I knew we would eventually get back to where we were, but right now, the situation is tense. ”
Elsewhere in the interview, Lewis asked the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" alumni if they were happy with their daughter's living arrangements.
"Obviously I want her to live with me," Richards replied. "Over the years, she's lived with me.
"But I think it's very difficult to raise teenagers right now, especially in Los Angeles, because there's anything that's available there. We didn't grow up at Postmates and Uber, where you could have everything you want," Richards explained. "There are some rules, and I'll enforce them. [Sheen's] home has different rules, and that's okay. ”
Still, Richards noted, "Charlie and I, we were at different stages from the start. ”
Richards later said the former couple's daughter was "not at school," seemingly referring to Sami's efforts to achieve her GED. She also said she disagreed with "certain things" that her ex-husband did.

"But that's okay. We can agree not to agree," Richards said, adding that she was "not super strict" but that she did have "rules and boundaries."
Richards' representative did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment.
In October, a judge granted Sheen's request to stop paying child support to Richards, 50, because Sami was already living with Sheen.
At the time, Sim's lawyer, Gregory Pedric, argued that the 56-year-old "Wall Street" performer had maintained custody of Sammy and another of the two's daughters, Lola, 16, since April 2021, and asked the judge to give "zero child support" "because the former couple had pre-established arrangements to divide custody."
A source told the magazine that Sami has been living with Sheen since July, not April.
Sheen's lawyer told the court that Sheen paid Richards too much child support each month and said that after filing the initial petition, Sheen even set up a $1.2 million trust fund for his daughter. An insider told the media at the time that Richards, who did not attend the court hearing, was "working outside the state."

Another insider further claimed to people that Simn "didn't pay" Richards and still owed her four years of child support.

A source told the media that Sammy and Richards lived together when she mentioned it in the video.
In a statement to Fox News Digital last year, Sim appeared to confirm that Sammy now lives with him.
"Sam is fantastic," Sim said through his representative, Jeff Ballard, in September. "I love her and all my children unconditionally. We're having a dance party. GED Here We Come! ”
