After the victory of the War of Resistance, this unit was sent to Vietnam to be surrendered, and later to the northeast to fight the civil war. In 1946, Pan Shuoduan, commander of the 184th Division of the 60th Army, led an uprising in Haicheng. During the Liaoshen Campaign, the commander of the 60th Army, Zeng Zesheng, revolted under his leadership. After the uprising of the 60th Army, it was reorganized into the 50th Army of Siye, of which the 21st Division of the 60th Army was reorganized into the 149th Division of the 50th Army. Subsequently, the unit took part in the campaign to liberate the Great Southwest.
After the outbreak of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the main forces of the 50th Army, the 38th Army and the 39th Army of Siye entered the Korean War. In the Third Campaign to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the 50th Army completely annihilated the British Royal Heavy Tank Battalion and took the lead in entering Seoul with the 39th Army. In the fourth campaign, the 50th Army, with the cooperation of a division of the 38th Army, blocked two US divisions, a brigade of the British army, and a brigade of Turkish troops on the south bank of the Han River for nearly 50 days, and the 50th Army fought from 30,000 people to 10,000 people, but it also caused heavy casualties to the US army, and the US army suffered 11,000 casualties in this battle, paying a heavy price, and the 50th Army also joined the ranks of the main forces of the PLA.
In 1969, the 149th Division of the 50th Army and the 52nd Division of the 18th Army were exchanged, that is, the current 52nd Mountain Infantry Brigade of the Tibet Military Region was also the 149th Division of the 50th Army. Since the founding of New China, after many large-scale military reforms, many traditional trump cards with great achievements have been abolished, not to mention some kuomintang army uprising troops, but this unit has not only been retained, but also become a sword in the southwest region.
