Under the circumstances at that time, the reason why the Platon Army was able to quickly defeat the Kuomintang army and achieve a nationwide victory was not only that the soldiers at all levels fought bravely without fear of sacrifice. Another big factor is that during the three-year Liberation War, there were up to more than 1 million Kuomintang troops who revolted in front of the front, and their uprising greatly accelerated the process of national liberation and made important contributions to national reunification. Among these units, there is a very special unit, which is the 60th Army of the National Revolutionary Army.
The 60th Army of the National Revolutionary Army, also known as the 60th Army of the Dian Army, was formerly known as the Yunnan New Army, which participated in major historical events such as the Xinhai Revolution and the Patriotic Movement. After the outbreak of the all-out War of Resistance, Wang Longyun of Yunnan showed that Yunnan could send 300,000 troops, and established the 60th Army of the Dian Army on the basis of the main force of the original Dian Army, and when the 60th Army of the Dian Army was first established, there were more than 40,000 people.
When the 60th Army of the Dian Army first left Yunnan, this unit was sent to Wuhan for a military parade due to strict military discipline and excellent equipment, in order to encourage the enthusiasm of the people of the whole country for the War of Resistance. At the time of the Battle of Xuzhou, this unit was sent to the taierzhuang battlefield, and in the area of Yuwangshan east of Taierzhuang and the Japanese Banyuan Division, more than 50,000 people of the Isoya Division fought fiercely for 27 days, annihilating 14,000 enemy troops, but this unit also paid heavy casualties, and the 60th Army lost more than 20,000 officers and men.
After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Chiang Kai-shek, in order to control Yunnan and divide the strength of the Yunnan warlord Long Yun, sent the 60th Army to the northeast to fight a civil war. After the 60th Army arrived in the northeast, it was always squeezed out by the Central Army, and the battle was very bad. In 1946, Pan Shuoduan, commander of the 184th Division of the 60th Army, led an uprising. In 1948, Zeng Zesheng, commander of the 60th Army, led an uprising. After the uprising, the 60th Army was reorganized into the 50th Army of Siye, and subsequently participated in the campaign to liberate the Great Southwest.
After the outbreak of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the 50th Army, under the leadership of Zeng Zesheng, and the main forces of the 38th Army, the 39th Army, the 40th Army, and the 42nd Army of Siye took the lead in going to the Korean battlefield. In the Third Campaign to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the 50th Army completely annihilated the British Royal Heavy Tank Battalion and took the lead in entering Seoul. In the fourth campaign, the 50th Army blocked the main force of the US and British forces on the south bank of the Han River for 50 days, and the US army could not attack for a long time, and also let the Taiwan agents rebel in front of the battle, but the officers and men of the 50th Army remained unmoved. The 50th Army annihilated 11,000 enemy troops in this blockade battle, but the casualties of the 50th Army were not small, and 20,000 Yunnan disciples were buried in other places, and blood was spilled on the battlefield.
In 1969, the 149th Division of the 50th Army and the 52nd Division of the 18th Army were renamed, and in 1985, the 52nd Division was reorganized into the 52nd Mountain Brigade of the Tibet Military Region, that is to say, the current 52nd Mountain Brigade of the Tibet Military Region was the 149th Division of the 50th Army that year. This unit has been stationed in the Brahmaputra River Valley for a long time, has strong combat effectiveness, is well-trained, and is a sharp sword against the Indian front.
