At that time, Huang Wei's troops were surrounded by five columns of our army, the main force of the 18th Army was the 12th Corps led by Huang Wei, and when Huang and Hu discussed, they put the 33rd Regiment in Dawangzhuang, which was called the Tiger Regiment, and most of them were veterans who had participated in the War of Resistance, and everyone was first-class in terms of ability and experience.
At that time, the Huaye 7th Column of our army was responsible for attacking Dawangzhuang, and everyone also knew that the Battle of Huaihai was one of the three major battles of liberation, the battle was very fierce, and the seven columns attacked several times, all of which were protected by the Nationalist army, and after half a day of fierce fighting, the people of the last 33 regiments, even the cooks and car soldiers, were sent to the battlefield.
In the end, our army also sent all the soldiers, even the guard company, to the battlefield, which suppressed their resistance, and they were almost completely annihilated in the end, but they insisted on not surrendering, and I have to say that such a spirit is still commendable.
