The reason why Eastern Wu was able to occupy the power of Jiangdong and Wei Shu was inseparable from Sun Quan's art of employing people

Sun Quan (孙權), courtesy name Zhongmou (182–252), was the founding monarch of the State of Wu during the Three Kingdoms period. In the last years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, when the feudal towns were divided, Sun Quan was able to uphold the foundation created by his father and brother, constantly forge ahead, and finally achieve the cause of hegemony, just as his brother Sun Ce said before his death: "Raise the people of Jiangdong, compete with the world for hegemony, and win the battle between the battlefields, you are not as good as me." But in terms of raising the meritocracy and making him do his best to protect Jiangdong, I am not as good as you..." It should be said that Sun Ce's view of his brother is still quite accurate.

So, what is sun quan's abnormality in employing people? Corporal LiXian is not easy for any feudal monarch to really do. But Sun Quan did it, especially when he first took charge of the Jiangdong regime, and his humble and courteous demeanor helped him quickly stabilize the situation in Jiangdong.

The reason why Eastern Wu was able to occupy the power of Jiangdong and Wei Shu was inseparable from Sun Quan's art of employing people

At that time, Sun Quan was only 18 years old, and many of the old departments in Jiangdong were afraid that they would be too young to become a great cause, and some held a wait-and-see attitude, and some even invested in others. At this time, Sun Quan relied on the full efforts of Zhang Zhao, Zhou Yu and others, and at the same time recruited talents and recruited talents, whether it was the local talents in Jiangdong or the scholars and doctors from the north, as long as they came to surrender, Sun Quan received them warmly, and once he found that he really had real talent and practical learning, he did not hesitate to entrust him with heavy responsibilities. The first time Shi Zai Sun Quan met Lu Su, he and Lu Su shared a drink and talked happily. Especially when Sun Quan heard Lu Su frankly say: The Han Room cannot be revived, Cao Cao cannot be eliminated, for the sake of the general, only to protect Jiangdong, in order to see the world's provocation. Sun Quan immediately shook Lu Su's hands, and he had the intention of seeing each other and hating the night. This is all a kind of talk between friends, where can you see that it is a monarch's countermeasure? It was precisely because of Sun Quan's peaceful attitude that Lu Su was willing to be used by Sun Quan throughout his life. And Sun Quan also used his generosity in employing people and talents, not only to reassure the civilian officials and military generals at both ends of the rat, but also to quickly recruit a group of talented and strategic people such as Lu Su and Zhuge Jin, making the situation in Jiangdong a new one.

Know people and do good job

Being able to correctly identify the strengths and weaknesses of our talents and provide them with a platform to display their talents is a necessary quality for every successful leader. In this regard, Sun Quan was no less than any accomplished feudal emperor.

At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was a chaotic situation in which various separatist forces were constantly at war with each other, and how to select a commander who was both wise and courageous was very important to Sun Quan. Sun Quan knew that his weakness was precisely to personally go to the battle front and choose a suitable person to replace his own frontal command, which was the most reasonable choice. Fortunately, Sun Quan did it, from Zhou Yu and Lu Su to Lü Meng and Lu Xun, several generals at the commander-in-chief level of Eastern Wu were famous military experts and strategists in ancient and modern times, and the Eastern Wu side won a series of key battles such as the Battle of Chibi, the Battle of Yiling, and the surprise attack on Jingzhou, so that the Jiangdong side was finally able to divide the world into three.

It is true that before appointing the manager, Sun Quan has also weighed it repeatedly, but once it is decided, it will give him absolute trust, which is fully reflected in the selection of the successor of the manager. Sun Quan was able to fully listen to the opinions of the incumbent manager, such as Zhou Yu's recommendation of Lu Su, Lu Su's recommendation of Lü Meng, and Lü Meng's recommendation of Lu Xun, Sun Quan accepted without exception, and the facts proved that Sun Quan's decision was correct. On the other hand, it can also fully reflect Sun Quan's knowledge and good duty. According to the Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms, Sun Quan successively sent Zhao Zhi, Shen Heng, and Feng Xi to the State of Wei, and all three of them accomplished their tasks brilliantly, especially Feng Xi, in order not to fail in his mission and not submit to the temptations of the State of Wei, and finally committed suicide by causing himself to commit suicide in the territory of the State of Wei, which caused great repercussions in the hostile State of Wei, established the prestige of the State of Wu, and also let people see Sun Quan's good deeds.

Employ people without doubt

The so-called employment of the ancients is not doubtful, and the suspicious people are not used, which is also reflected in Sun Quan's body. Zhuge Jin (Zhuge Jin), also spelled Ziyu, was the elder brother of Zhuge Liang, the chancellor of the Shu Han Dynasty. Zhuge Jin was highly used by Sun Quan in Jiangdong, initially as a long history, then as a Southern Commandery Taishou, and finally as a great general, leading YuZhou Mu. Of course, this caused some people to be jealous, so they privately slandered Zhuge Jinming to protect Sun Quan, secretly communicated with Liu Bei, and used it for his brother Zhuge Liang.

In this regard, Sun Quan smiled and said: "Ziyu and I have worked together for many years, grace is like flesh and bones, we know each other very thoroughly, for his personality, I know, do not do things that are not moral, do not say words that are not moral." In order to make everyone believe, Sun Quan also deliberately explained that when Zhuge Liang came to Eastern Wu, he had instructed Zhuge Jin to persuade Zhuge Liang to stay. At that time, Zhuge Jin rejected Sun Quan, and Zhuge Jin said: "My younger brother Zhuge Liang has already defected to Liu Bei and should be loyal to Liu Bei. I should be loyal to you when I work under you, and this attribution determines the division of kings and subjects, and morally speaking, neither can I be half-hearted, and my brother will not stay in Eastern Wu, just as I will not go to Shu Han. "How could a man who could utter these words show enough of his noble character to betray me?" Sun Quan ended with such words.

Afterwards, in order to block the mouths of everyone, and even more to show his trust in Zhuge Jin, Sun Quan sent Zhuge Jin to the Shu Kingdom several times, and Zhuge Jin also fulfilled his mission brilliantly, every time he went to Shu Han, he only met his brother in public, and in private, the brothers never met, and Zhuge Jin repaid Sun Quan's trust with his loyalty.

From the admonition like a stream

Any effective feudal emperor in history is also an indispensable character to be able to follow the flow of advice, otherwise, despite the abundant talent of his subordinates, what is the use? Like Yuan Shao, his subordinates also had advisers and generals like clouds, but because of their own rigidity, they were eventually defeated by Cao Cao.

The reason why Eastern Wu was able to occupy the power of Jiangdong and Wei Shu was inseparable from Sun Quan's art of employing people

Zhang Zhao, who was a major vassal of Sun Ce and Sun Quan of Eastern Wu, but on the eve of the Battle of Chibi, his insistence on the wrong surrender almost ruined the foundation of Jiangdong, which greatly disappointed Sun Quan. However, even in dealing with such a person, Sun Quan can still do it from the advice, which is not simple.

Once, Sun Quan led the wen and military officials to the fishing platform and drank freely. Sun Quan was so drunk because of his momentary happiness that the ministers were happy to see their masters, and they were momentarily oblivious to it, and there were many disrespectful places. Zhang Zhao saw the situation and had the heart to persuade Sun Quan, but in front of the ministers, he was afraid that Sun Quan would not be able to step down. At this moment, Sun Quan actually let the courtiers sprinkle water on the Qunchen, causing everyone to turn into chickens in the soup one by one, looking very embarrassed, while Sun Quan laughed loudly.

Zhang Zhao saw this, and walked out of the banquet hall breathlessly. Sun Quan saw it, was taken aback, and woke up a few points drunk, Sun Quan sent someone to summon Zhang Zhao, and whispered to Zhang Zhao: "Today's banquet, I am just to make everyone happy, why are you angry?" Zhang Zhao responded: "In the past, the king of Shangyi piled up the lees into a mountain, filled the pool with wine, and feasted and drank all night, and at that time, he also thought it was very happy, but he didn't think it was a bad thing!" After Sun Quan listened, he was silent, and his face showed a look of shame, and then he ordered someone to withdraw the banquet. Since then, something similar has not happened. Be lenient

Wise leaders certainly understand that no one is perfect, that even the best talent cannot be without shortcomings, so there is no need to ask for total blame. Sun Quan deeply understood this, so he was able to treat Zhang Zhao kindly from beginning to end.

Another time, Sun Quan and Lu Xun talked about the strengths of Lu Su and others, and once said in a serious tone: "Lu Su came to Lonely Because of Zhou Gongjin's recommendation, Lonely drank and talked with him, talked about the cause of hegemony, and was very happy with Loneliness. Later, Cao Cao led his troops south, claiming hundreds of thousands of people, Gu once asked about the generals, none of them had a good plan, but Zhang Zhao persuaded Gu Xiushu to surrender, at that time only Lu Zijing insisted that it was impossible, persuaded Gu to urgently recruit Zhou Gongjin to come, entrusted with heavy responsibilities, and then had the later Chibi victory, which was the second fast. Although Lu Zijing later persuaded Gu to borrow Jingzhou from Liu Bei, this was a major failure of Lu Zijing, but it was not enough to withstand the first two quick events. The Duke of Zhou did not seek to blame one person, so he forgot Lu Zijing's shortcomings and valued his strengths, and often compared Zijing to Deng Yu, a general during the Han Guangwu period. ”

Sun Quan's words show that he has an attitude toward talents, that is, to treat people with leniency, and it is also for this reason that people like Zhang Zhao, Lu Su and others have followed him all their lives.
