The original wedding photo was donated by Li Hanjun's grandson Huang Jian to a major memorial hall of the Communist Party of China in December last year and was identified as a second-class cultural relic.
Including this precious photo, in the past year, a major memorial hall of the Communist Party of China has collected more than 1,500 pieces of various collections, of which 173 pieces (sets) have been identified as cultural relics. At the "Real Accumulation" - 2021 Cultural Relics Collection Results Conference and Fine Exhibition Held Yesterday (13th), 50 selected cultural relics such as Li Dazhao's "Essentials of Historiography" in 1926, Edgar Snow's English version of "Red Star Shines on China" published by Victor Glantz Company in London in October 1937, and various versions of the "Communist Manifesto" were displayed to the public. Next, after all the cultural relics are completed and put into storage, some of the collections will be successively met with the audience at the special exhibition.
"Enriching the collection is to revitalize the cultural relics and become the source of power to tell the story of the revolution and inherit the red gene." Xue Feng, secretary of the Party Committee and director of the First Memorial Hall of the Communist Party of China, introduced that the original collection of the First Memorial Hall of the Communist Party of China was 128,000 pieces. Since the completion and opening of the new museum, the collection work has received widespread attention from the society, "providing us with important historical support for better expounding the history of the CPC's century-long struggle."
For example, the second-class cultural relics, Li Dazhao's "Essentials of Historiography" in 1926. According to Xu Yungen, director of the Collection Preservation Department of a major memorial hall of the Communist Party of China, the book was written during Li Dazhao's teaching at Peking University, and before it was published, some of the contents of "Essentials of Historiography" were disseminated in the form of lecture notes in the classroom. The book explores topics such as "What is history" and "The Place of Historiography in Science". Due to its small audience and small number of survivors, this 1926 edition is particularly precious. "Looking at Li Dazhao's historical treatises and relevant theoretical works, the Essentials of Historiography most intensively and systematically reflects the scientific outlook on history and historiography of this pioneer of the Chinese communist movement." Xu Yungen said.
On the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the Party, a major memorial hall of the Communist Party of China collected a total of 69 volumes of the Communist Manifesto. Among them, 46 volumes of the Communist Manifesto printed and published by the Liberation Society and Xinhua Bookstores in various places between 1943 and 1949, as well as a volume of the centennial edition of the 1948 Russian "Communist Manifesto" and a volume of the Esperanto version of the Communist Manifesto, enriched the collection, and will have the opportunity to meet the audience in the future.
"If the cultural relics and historical materials are placed on a high cabinet, they are just items. By taking them out to the audience and researchers, the public service and social education role of revolutionary cultural relics can be better brought into play. Xu Yungen said.
It is understood that the public collection of cultural relics in a major memorial hall of the Communist Party of China will be carried out for a long time and normally. "Not only revolutionary cultural relics, but also some important evidence from the period of socialist construction, such as the work notebooks of model workers, medals won, etc., we must treat cultural relics with a cautious attitude, collect the witnesses of these times, so that their role and efficiency can be brought into greater play."
