CCTV launches documentary "The End of the Pen" (Season 2)

2022 is an important year to enter the new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country and marching towards the second centenary goal. Looking back at the cpc's century-long struggle course, generations of communists have adhered to the communist ideal, fought heroically, and at the last moment of their lives, they left behind a series of letters full of deep affection, telling the shocking and worthy of the Chinese revolution in the past that is worth remembering forever.

On the occasion of the Qingming Dynasty in 2022, the Chinese Global Program Center of the Central Radio and Television Corporation grandly launched a six-episode special documentary "Absolute Pen" (the second season), which interprets the extraordinary writings of fourteen Communist Party members and shows the sacrificial spirit of a group of revolutionary martyrs who have dedicated themselves to the Chinese revolution and pursued lofty faith.

The whole film is divided into six chapters: "The Age of Awakening" (Li Dazhao, Cai Hesen), "Song of Youth" (He Ruilin, Wu Zhenpeng), "Red Lovers" (Zhou Wenyong, Chen Tiejun, Tan Shoulin, Qian Ying), "Deep Feelings and Unrepentant" (He Mengxiong, Miao Boying, Xu Baoye, Ye Yanping), "Red Courageous And Loyal Soul" (Zhao Yiman, Lu Huisheng), and "Red Agent" (Leng Shaonong, Lu Zhiying), following the light of ideals, exploring the spiritual strength between the lines of the revolutionary martyrs, reflecting the original intention and mission of the communists.

In order to vividly present the advanced deeds of the heroic struggle of the revolutionary martyrs, the film crew went to 20 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions such as Jiangsu, Anhui, Guangdong, Hunan, Guangxi, and Shanghai, and went to nearly 30 archives, former residences, martyrs' cemeteries, memorial halls, exhibition halls, and other places, and excavated many precious historical images and archival materials.

These include the original of Li Dazhao's "Self-Description in Prison" treasured by the Central Archives, the original of the 1916 lead edition of "Youth" and other precious cultural relics archives.

A number of precious documents, including the diary written by the martyr He Ruilin before his death, The poems written by Lü Huisheng in the collection of the Central Archives, and Xu Baoye's work report to the party organization, were all made public for the first time.

The film crew also interviewed more than 20 descendants and relatives of the martyrs, including Li Jiansheng and Li Yazhong, the grandsons of Li Dazhao, and Li Hongta, the recipient of the "July 1st Medal"; Cai Zhuan, daughter of Cai Hesen, and Cai Ning, the eldest grandson; Lü Zhiping, daughter of Lü Huisheng; Lü Qiming, son of Lü Huisheng, and recipient of the "July 1st Medal". The program uses precious oral history images to tell the remembrance and remembrance of the martyrs, and tells the great spirit of the revolutionary martyrs passed down from generation to generation.

The zhengzheng oath written by the martyrs with their lives allows us to once again approach the heroic predecessors of flesh and blood, and to remember the bloody loyal souls who have never cooled.
