Beijing, April 17 (China News Network) -- The 2022 public welfare performance of the newly compiled modern Peking Opera "Li Dazhao" by the Beijing Opera House has recently opened at the Taihu Theater of the National Centre for the Performing Arts.
Li Dazhao was a pioneer of the Chinese communist movement, a great Marxist, an outstanding proletarian revolutionary, and one of the main founders of the Communist Party of China. The newly compiled modern Peking opera "Li Dazhao" reproduces Li Dazhao's magnificent revolutionary career of "shouldering morality on iron shoulders and writing articles with clever hands" in the form of peking opera expressions, the typical way of art, and the poetic expression methods, praises the group portraits of chinese communists represented by Li Dazhao who struggle for ideals and sacrifice for their faith, and carries forward the spiritual genealogy of Chinese communists represented by the great spirit of party building.

The newly compiled modern Peking Opera "Li Dazhao" was written by Cai Xiangchao, the famous theater director and artist, the drama educator Cao Qijing as the general director, the national first-class director Xu Chunlan as the director, and the famous opera musician Zhu Shaoyu as the composer. Professor Xiao Yanying of the Choreography Department of Beijing Dance Academy served as dance choreographer, Luo Jiangtao, professor of the Stage Art Department of the Central Academy of Drama, served as stage designer, Xing Xin, a national first-class lighting designer, served as lighting designer, Lan Ling and Zhang Yingren served as costume and styling designers, and Wang Tianci, an outstanding young composer of northern Kunqu Opera Theater, served as an instrument.

The drama has a strong cast of stars, played by Zhang Jianfeng, winner of the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award and a young Xi Pai celebrity, Li Dazhao, winner of the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award and leading actor of the Beijing Peking Opera Theatre, and Zhang Pai famous artist Wang Rongrong as Li Dazhao's wife Zhao Shulan. Zhang Kai, Fang Xu, You Yaying, Yu Xinze, Qiu Zhi, Wang Yingzheng, Wei Xuelei, Cui Ran, Han Juming, Liu Mingzhe, Song Haoyu, Sun Zhen, Zhao Shikang, etc. also played important roles in the play.
According to reports, from April 14 to May 30, the newly compiled modern Peking opera "Li Dazhao" will perform 15 times at the Taihu Theater of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, daxing theater, National Drama Theatre, Chang'an Grand Theatre, Shunyi Grand Theatre, Mentougou Film Theatre and Shunyi Campus of Beijing City College.
