Cultural relics carry a heavy historical memory. How should the rich collection of artifacts serve the public? How to make the red gene in cultural relics passed on from generation to generation inspire people' hearts? On the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the series of "Red Genes in Cultural Relics" jointly created by the National Museum of China and the Founder Publishing House of China began from the founding period of the Party, followed the process of China's revolution, construction and reform, and under the guidance of the collection of revolutionary cultural relics, let the silent cultural relics tell the voice of history.
The series of books is divided into six volumes, "Faith and Loyalty", "Selfless Dedication", "Hard Struggle", "Seeking Truth and Innovation", "Honesty and Honesty", and "Feelings of Home and Country", and more than 600 cultural relics from various historical periods since the May Fourth Movement have been selected. From the earliest translations of the Communist Manifesto Chinese to the application for joining the party on the front line of the fight against the epidemic, from the wooden slogans of the Red Army period to the work notes of poverty alleviation cadres, from the first steel rail made by the mainland to the supercomputer... Ordinary objects of daily life and literary works of lyrical speech, horse lanterns illuminating the long march and handwritten inscriptions of the Monument to the People's Heroes, rough production tools and exquisite state ceremonies, every cultural relic, are the testimony of history. Through these cultural relics, readers can touch the pulse of history, explore the rich inner world and the glorious course of unremitting struggle of the owners or witnesses of cultural relics, feel the sincerity of the emotions of the pioneers of the times, the persistence of the spirit, the firmness of faith, the high morale, and feel the subtle and meticulous scene moments in the depths of the magnificent history. In this sense, the series of books not only introduces rich cultural relics and shows the course of history, but also shapes the group portraits of generations of outstanding revolutionaries and strivers - they are the creators and devotees of the great history of the country and the times.
In the spiritual dimension, these cultural relics are respectively included in the six spiritual values of faith loyalty, selfless dedication, hard struggle, truth-seeking and innovation, honesty and honesty, and family and country feelings, and these scattered pearls are strung together by a red thread - the spiritual genealogy of the Communist Party and the Chinese nation. Judging from the centenary course of the party from its birth to its development and growth, the spiritual thinking formed by the party in different periods has gradually accumulated the core values and excellent culture that embody the essential attributes of the party, constitute the party's spiritual genealogy, and vividly embody the law of party building and the party's long-term ruling. In short, the spiritual genealogy of the party is the red gene flowing in the blood of the Chinese communists.
These cultural relics contain endless red genes. The red gene is the crystallization of the advanced ideological factors nurtured and formed by our party in the course of the great struggle of the past century, the spiritual characteristics of the Chinese communists and the Chinese people over the past hundred years, embodied in the advanced nature of our party in upholding the people's stand, embodied in our party's ideological line of emancipating the mind, seeking truth from facts, advancing with the times, and seeking truth and being pragmatic, embodied in our party's fine traditional work style of linking theory with practice, maintaining close ties with the masses, and criticizing and self-criticism, and embodied in the spirit of the Red Boat, the spirit of Jinggangshan, the spirit of the Long March, and so on. In the spirit of the Zunyi Conference, the spirit of Yan'an, the spirit of Xibaipo, the spirit of Hongyan, the spirit of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea, the spirit of "two bombs and one satellite," the spirit of special zones, the spirit of fighting floods, the spirit of fighting earthquakes and disaster relief, and the spirit of fighting the epidemic, it is a high degree of unity between party spirit and people's nature, nationality and epochality, and advanced nature and openness. In this regard, the series of books has both theoretical breadth and depth, ideological height, and is also full of the power of moral feelings, which can be called a magnificent history of the spiritual genealogy of the Chinese Communists and the Chinese people, and is interspersed with the internal rational path and spiritual context of the party's great social revolution and great self-revolution after its birth to its long-term ruling power.
In expounding and displaying each spiritual value, the series of books pays attention to grasping the historical conditions and the background of the times at different stages, and at the same time profoundly reveals its rich ideological connotation, it also reflects the distinctive characteristics of the times.
