Yang Hucheng was able to become friends with Zhang Xueliang and launch the Xi'an Incident, and this woman was indispensable

As we all know, in 1936, in the face of the crazy invasion of the Land of China by the Japanese Army, Yang Hucheng and Zhang Xueliang joined forces to launch the Xi'an Incident, which shocked China and foreign countries, and in one fell swoop contributed to the formation of the national anti-Japanese united front.

But what is less known is that the reason why Yang Hucheng was able to become a friend of Zhang Xueliang and jointly launch the Xi'an Incident was that this woman was indispensable, she was Yang Hucheng's third wife Xie Baozhen, a staunch Communist Party member, a woman Haojie.

General Yang Hucheng married three wives in his lifetime, namely the original Luo Peilan, the second wife Zhang Huilan, and the third wife Xie Baozhen. However, because Yang Hucheng had been leading troops to fight for many years, and the only person who really guarded his side and often followed General Yang on the battlefield was Xie Baozhen's wife.

It was in the early 1930s of the last century, because Yang Hucheng had repeatedly spoken to Chiang Kai-shek, asking him to stop the civil war and unanimously resist Japan, but he was rejected by Chiang Kai-shek, and even hated. In order to eliminate Yang Hucheng, an alien, Chiang Kai-shek tried every means to elevate it, and also transferred Zhang Xueliang's Northeast Army to Xi'an, and also stirred up dissension between the two armies, causing a firefight between the two sides, and Chiang Kai-shek sat on the mountain to watch the tiger fight and profited from it.

However, what Chiang Kai-shek never expected was that the layout he carefully set was easily defused by Xie Baozhen. It turned out that shortly after Zhang Xueliang was transferred to Xi'an, his wives Yu Fengzhi and Zhao Yidi became particularly good sisters with Xie Baozhen. Therefore, under their influence, Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng also became friends, laying the groundwork for the two to jointly launch the Xi'an Incident later.

After the outbreak of the Xi'an Incident, Yang Hucheng, who had already left overseas, returned to China again because of the anti-japanese war, and as a result, he was arrested by dai Kasa, the head of the military command, and began his career as a prisoner. After some fruitless campaigns, Xie Baozhen took the initiative to go to Xi'an and asked to be imprisoned and accompany her husband.

Xie Baozhen felt that since he could not save Yang Hucheng, he would accompany her husband to prison. What is a real couple, this is the touching feelings of husband and wife. Since then, Xie Baozhen and Yang Hucheng have successively moved to the prisons of Yiyang, Guizhou and Chongqing in Hunan. Although life in prison is extremely hard and endless, Xie Baozhen has always accompanied her husband, working hard and complaining, without complaint or regret.

Soon after, the unfortunate thing happened again, because the news of Xie Baozhen's early participation in the Communist Party was found out by Kuomintang agents, so she was forced to separate from Yang Hucheng and detained in solitary confinement. In prison, Xie Baozhen committed suicide on hunger strike several times in order not to implicate her husband, but was rescued until February 8, 1947, when Xie Baozhen died heroically in prison at the age of 34.
