Luo Peilan, born in 1902 in Guanghan County, Sichuan Province, has many poor sisters in his family, and his mother works long-term work for a Shaanxi businessman named Zhang Ximing, who is doing business in the local area, doing some sewing and repairing things. When Luo Peilan was very young, he often went to help his mother, and Zhang Ximing observed that Luo Peilan was intelligent and capable, very likable, and he recognized her as a righteous daughter. Once, when Zhang Ximing returned to Shaanxi to visit relatives, he brought Luo Peilan back to his hometown of Dali County. At this time, Yang Hucheng was the commander of the first battalion of the Third Mixed Regiment of the Shaanxi Army, stationed in Dali County. He happened to be familiar with Zhang Ximing and often visited the Zhang family, so he had the opportunity to meet Luo Peilan. In 1928, during the fierce Northern Expedition, the two were married. At this time, Xie Baozhen was just 15 years old, and Yang Hucheng was over 35 years old. Yang Hucheng, who had fled overseas, had been paying close attention to the situation of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and had repeatedly made requests to Chiang Kai-shek to return to China to resist Japan, but he was reluctantly rejected again and again. Under the efforts of many parties, in October 1937, Yang Hucheng finally ended a five-month overseas expedition and returned to China with his wife Xie Baozhen and second son Yang Zhengzhong.
