"Tiger General" Wang Jinya: He dared to tie the Japanese Kou to a tree to practice bayonets, and Chiang Kai-shek once scolded him with a broken mouth

During the 14-year War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, a unit emerged in the Jianghan Plain: it belonged neither to the Communist Party nor to the Kuomintang, and not only openly shouted at the Japanese, but even dared to tie the Japanese army to a tree to practice bayonets.

Such an alternative unit, of course, is indispensable to a commander with a clear thinking, and this commander is Wang Jinya.

Wang Jinya was a "strange man" who had conflicts with both the Communists and the Kuomintang, and later established an independent kingdom in the vicinity of Qiuyang, and also formulated laws and regulations related to the army and the people in the kingdom.

He also called himself a "half-hero", and Chiang Kai-shek hated him even more for one thing.

At that time, many of Wang Jinya's practices were not understood by everyone, and many people thought that he was too maverick and did not conform to the development of the times. However, it was such a person who was a good hand in the war against the Japanese aggressors and made great contributions to the victory of the war of resistance against Japan on the mainland.

So, who is Wang Jinya? Why is he so different? Why did Chiang Kai-shek hate him to the bone?

Wang Jinya

All this must begin with the Japanese invasion of the mainland.

Tough guys rule the army, iron fist division commander

Zheng Huanwu once said that Wang Jinzha was the commander of the 128th Division of the Nationalist Army, but he did not listen to anyone's orders. If the Japanese come to look for stubble, he will beat the Japanese; if the Kuomintang comes to attack, he will beat the Kuomintang.

For example, once, the commander of the Kuomintang Forty-ninth Division sent a staff officer to contact Wang Jinya, but Wang Jinzai directly buried the staff officer alive... According to Zheng Huanwu, Wang Jinya was a very cruel person, and other people who had contact with Wang Jinya also said that Wang Jinya did have a murderous side.

Regarding Wang Jinya's ferocity, it can be fully reflected in the following things:

There was a tailor surnamed Chen, because the bullet bag did not meet Wang Jinya's requirements, violated the crime of "no conscience" set by Wang Jinya's division commander, and this tailor was actually stabbed to death by Wang Jinya with a bayonet in public. Even some of the young soldiers under him were frightened by Wang Jinya's decisive character.

When Wang Jinya's army soldiers began to slacken off and their morale was scattered, Wang Jinya suddenly gathered his team and announced to all the soldiers that he was going to kill his cousin Li Baowei. The reason is simple, in Wang Jinya's words: "Fucking two minutes late to fire!" ”

This also violates the "unconscionable" sin he formulated.

Li Baowei was a very good combatant, and usually made great contributions to the army, if only because the firing was two minutes late, it was not enough to kill him as punishment. At that time, many people in the army were very sympathetic to Li Baowei's plight and knelt down to plead with him.

Even so, Wang Jinya preferred to stage a drama of "great righteousness and annihilation of relatives" in the army, and chose to shoot Li Baowei himself.

The day after the death of his cousin Li Baowei, Master Wang Jinzha changed his previous "cold blood", bought a beautiful coffin for his cousin, and held a memorial service for him, so that all the soldiers could attend.

What is strange is that Wang Jinya cried loudly at the memorial service holding the coffin and gave a eulogy to his cousin, as if he did not do the shooting of his cousin yesterday, but someone else.

After the above examples of events, we can't help but think, what kind of person is Wang Jinya?

Wang Jinya's image is completely the appearance of an ordinary soldier, he always wears a set of cloth military uniforms, the waist plate is very straight, maintaining the most basic standing and sitting posture of the soldiers, his eyes are shining, and he looks confident and energetic.

He had the unfortunate blowing wounds on the finger of one hand during the war, and he also had multiple knife and gunshot wounds on his body, all of which were traces of his long-term combat. But his most typical feature is baldness, which allows his image to instantly "stand out" in the crowd.

Out of curiosity about Wang Jinya, a reporter once traveled thousands of miles to Wang Jinya's "independent kingdom" to find him. As the saying goes, "Don't go into the tiger's den, get the tiger", at that time, this reporter held such a mentality and decided to personally meet the general who ruled the army with an iron fist.

When he first met Wang Jinya, the reporter was trembling in his heart, because he did not know whether Wang Jinya would do anything to him in one breath, however, Wang Jinya's approach directly changed the reporter's consistent impression of Wang Jinya.

Although Wang Jinya was strictly disciplined in the army, his attitude toward reporters was still very good, and he also asked reporters about the general situation from time to time. In the conversation between the two men, the reporter learned that Wang Jinya was originally a subordinate of Yang Hucheng's Northwest Army, and after the "Xi'an Incident", Wang Jinya came to Chiang Kai-shek's command and later became the commander of the 128th Division of the Nationalist Army.

What Wang Jinya did not know at that time was that Chiang Kai-shek tried every means to pull Wang Jinya under his command, and there was a bigger "conspiracy." After hundreds of battles, Wang Jinya quickly realized this "conspiracy", so he took his four regiments all the way to Qiuyang, where he "occupied the mountains as kings" and began his independent anti-Japanese career.

So, what was the "conspiracy" that forced Wang Jinya to take his own men down to Qiuyang to establish an "independent kingdom"? What exactly is the enmity between Wang Jinya and Chiang Kai-shek? The source of all this must also start from the "Xi'an Incident".

The enmity between Wang Jinya and Chiang Kai-shek

When the "Xi'an Incident" occurred in 1936, Wang Jinya had become a major general under Yang Hucheng.

At that time, in order to force Chiang Kai-shek to resist Japan, Yang Hucheng and Zhang Xueliang did not hesitate to "advise" Chiang Kai-shek and ask him to stop the civil war and unite with the outside world.

Since Wang Jinya was Yang Hucheng's right-hand man, Yang Hucheng entrusted Wang Jinya with the task of "guarding Chiang Kai-shek's entourage Chen Cheng and Wei Li."

Chen Cheng and Wei Lihuang, as high-ranking officers of the Kuomintang, even if they were imprisoned, they still had a certain prestige, and many people under Wang Jinya did not dare to do anything to the two of them. Seeing this, Wang Jinya did not hesitate to smash the vase in the room with his gun, and warned everyone present: "This is a critical period, if anyone disobeys the discipline, The gun of the king can not recognize anyone." ”

After saying that, the room was silent, and Chen Cheng and Wei Lihuang did not dare to make waves again.

The "Xi'an Incident" raised an important question, that is, how to deal with Chiang Kai-shek. There are two views within the Kuomintang army on this issue: one is to release Chiang Kai-shek and let him cooperate with the Kuomintang and the Communists to resist Japan together; there is also a category of people who advocate killing Chiang Kai-shek, who believe that Chiang Kai-shek's stay will definitely be a disaster.

Wang Jinya held the second view, advocating the killing of Chiang Kai-shek, and bluntly stated that "if Chiang Kai-shek is not removed for one day, there will be no peace in the world."

After Wang Jinya's proposition was learned by Chiang Kai-shek, Chiang Kai-shek was so angry that his teeth itched and he was so angry that he burst out into a loud scolding, not only firmly remembering Wang Jinya's name, but also hating him to the bone.

In the end, the "Xi'an Incident" was resolved peacefully, and Wang Jinya was deeply disappointed by Yang Hucheng's approach and chose to leave Yang Hucheng's troops. Later, Chiang Kai-shek extended an olive branch to Wang Jinya, hoping that he would join his troops. Because the War of Resistance was in a critical period at that time, Wang Jinya had nowhere to go, so he had to put aside his personal grudges and fall under Chiang Kai-shek's command.

Then, why did Chiang Kai-shek take the initiative to extend an olive branch to Wang Jinya, regardless of his previous suspicions?

There were roughly two reasons: first, the situation in the anti-Japanese battlefield at that time was indeed very severe, and wang Jinya, a major general, could not be lost; second, Wang Jinzai had four regiments of troops under his command, and his inclusion under his command was undoubtedly like a tiger.

In fact, Chiang Kai-shek's real intention was to tend to the latter.

After the beginning of the War of Resistance, Chiang Kai-shek brought Wang Jinya and his subordinates under Tang Enbo, but Wang Jinzha was not treated preferentially here, but was targeted by Tang Enbo everywhere. Later, Tang Enbo actually wanted to transfer the four regiments under Wang Jinya's hand to himself on the pretext of fighting, which made Wang Jinya quite dissatisfied.

It turned out that Chiang Kai-shek and Tang Enbo had already made plans in private to "annex" Wang Jinya's troops, but Wang Jinya was not a combat white, and he immediately understood the "conspiracy" of Chiang Kai-shek and Tang Enbo.

For Wang Jinya, the army is his own capital, and if there is no army, he really has nothing. Seeing that the situation was not right, Wang Jinya immediately made a decision, came to Qiuyang with his four regiments, and began to "establish himself as king."

After that, as long as someone mentioned Chiang Kai-shek, Tang Enbo and others in front of him, he was so angry that he itched his teeth and was eager to slash them with a thousand knives.

In 1938, after Wang Jinya arrived in Qiuyang with his troops, it took only half a year to occupy the cities near Qiuyang, including Hanyang, Tianmen, Jianli, Honghu, and Heyang. At the same time, his subordinates also changed from more than 2,000 to more than 30,000.

Because Wang Jinya deeply resented Chiang Kai-shek's attempt to annex his own troops, he chose independence and did not obey the command of the central authorities. Later, Wang Jinya also signed a friendly agreement with the New Fourth Army on non-aggression, and since then, Wang Jinya's troops have become an independent unit, neither under the command of the Kuomintang nor under the jurisdiction of the Communists.

With the fall of Wuhan, the Japanese army further advanced to the southwest, when the Japanese army formulated a combat strategy - west into Yichang, south into Changsha. The 128th Division led by Wang Jinya was located in Qiuyang, adjacent to Hanyang, that is to say, if the Japanese army wanted to achieve the strategic decision of "moving west into Yichang and south into Changsha", it must pass through Wang Jinya.

So, how exactly did Wang Jinya deal with the Japanese invasion?

There is no ambiguity on the issue of resistance against Japan

In January 1940, the Japanese troops stationed in Wuhan began to attack Wang Jinya's troops, and soon captured the town of Xiantao. Wang Jinya did not accept defeat, he led his troops to Baiziqiao to practice day and night, and in March of the same year, he raided xiantao town at night, which was unexpected, causing the Japanese army to suffer great damage and greatly dispelling the japanese army's vigor.

In the summer, the Japanese army captured Shijiagang, and Wang Jinya also took the same method, raiding the Japanese garrison in Shijiagang at night, and soon successfully recovered Shijiagang.

In 1941, Li Xiannian accidentally obtained information that the Japanese army was about to attack Wang Jinya's department on a large scale, and soon told Wang Jinya the news, and Wang Jinya was very touched.

Sure enough, a few days later, the Japanese army led a large army and dozens of planes and tanks to Wang Jinya's department. Because Of the accuracy of Li Xiannian's intelligence, Wang Jinya took timely countermeasures, and even though the Japanese army launched a fierce offensive, it still did not get any sweetness from Wang Jinya.

Later, after seven days and seven nights of fierce fighting, because the shells were gone, the two sides even began to fight each other, and finally Wang Jinya's troops still defeated the Japanese army. The battle killed more than 1,800 enemy troops, greatly frustrated the japanese army's vigor, and also captured a large number of Japanese weapons and equipment. Since then, the 128th Division has also become one of the biggest obstacles for the Japanese to continue to advance.

The person to thank li Xiannian for the victory in this war is that without his timely report, Wang Jinya may have died at the hands of the Japanese.

Li Xiannian

Don't look at Wang Jinya's personality is very strange, and the resistance is unambiguous. From 1938 to 1943, for 5 years, he always stood on the front line of the anti-Japanese resistance. During this period, Wang Jinya also drew up a loud slogan for the troops to resist Japan:

"Bring down the Japanese devils and return me to the rivers and mountains."

In these 5 years, Wang Jinya defended the tranquility of the people on one side, and also greatly defeated the japanese people's vigor, letting those arrogant Japanese troops know that the Chinese army is not a good bully.

The reason why Wang Jinya was able to persist in resisting Japan for so many years was inextricably linked to the powerful troops under his command, and if he had not trained the troops in an orderly manner, the troops would not have been of such great use at critical times. From this point of view, Wang Jinya's attitude of "ruling the army with an iron fist" is still very desirable.

In order to cultivate the courage of new recruits during the Anti-Japanese War, Wang Jinya also tied Japanese soldiers to trees after capturing Japanese prisoners of war for the recruits to practice bayonets. After this news was known to the Japanese army, the Japanese general was furious and vowed to slash Wang Jinya with a thousand knives.

At the same time, the Japanese army was also a little more afraid of the name Wang Jinya.

In 1943, Wang Jinya was unfortunately captured in a battle with the Japanese army, thanks to the brigade commander who betrayed Wang Jinya. After Wang Jinya was captured, he would rather die than surrender, and later the Japanese army imprisoned him until the Japanese army announced surrender in 1945. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Wang Jinya escaped from death and recovered a life, but was arrested by Hu Zongnan.

On the way to Nanjing, Hu Zongnan escorted Wang Jinya to Nanjing, Wang Jinya took advantage of the guards' inattention and ran out, avoiding the end of being brutally killed by the Kuomintang.

In the end, Wang Jinya decided to defect to Yan'an, so he wrote a letter to Mao Zedong, which read:

Don't say anything, we only have one word, Wang Jinya is going to Yan'an, but he is just a light rod commander, do you want it?

In the end, Chairman Mao did send someone to pick up Wang Jinya to Yan'an, and he welcomed Wang Jinya's arrival.

In 1948, with the approval of the Party Central Committee, Wang Jinya smoothly became a special member of the Communist Party of China, and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as the deputy commander of the Weinan Military Subdistrict. In 1968, Wang Jinya died of illness at the age of 71.
