author:A monument to history

preface

In April 2006, Yang Han, the grandson of General Yang Hucheng, traveled thousands of miles to a small village in Luohe City, Henan Province, and his trip was to visit an 88-year-old man, Yang Qindian, who was standing outside the courtyard waiting for Yang Han's arrival.

Seeing Yang Han, the 88-year-old Yang Qindian actually cried out directly, and he sobbed: "I have waited for this day for a long time, whether you want to fight or scold, I am really sorry for General Yang Hucheng!" ”

Yang Hucheng was killed in 1949, and 53 years later, the younger generation of the Yang family found the real culprit, the old man: I have been waiting for you for a long time

Yang Han, grandson of General Yang Hucheng, talked with Yang Qindian

Yang Han saw that the old man was so sad, and he had mixed feelings in his heart, and he quickly said that he did not come to seek revenge, but just wanted to understand the truth of that period of history.

Hearing this, Yang Qindian stabilized his emotions and told us the truth about the killing of General Yang Hucheng...

General Yang Hucheng, who is imprisoned

On December 12, 1936, Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng advised Chiang Kai-shek, changed Chiang Kai-shek's policy of "foreign countries must first be at home", promoted the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party again, promoted the establishment of the anti-Japanese national united front, and was a well-deserved "national hero" in the history of the Chinese nation.

Zhang Xueliang, Yang Hucheng

However, both national heroes were persecuted by Chiang Kai-shek, and on December 26, General Zhang Xueliang accompanied Chiang Kai-shek back to Nanjing and was detained, where he did not regain his personal freedom until 1990. Yang Hucheng remained in Xi'an, and under the pressure of public opinion, Chiang Kai-shek did not do anything to Yang Hucheng.

However, Chiang Kai-shek was, after all, the head of the Nationalist government, and it was not moral to arbitrarily detain the leader, and it was necessary to take care of Chiang Kai-shek's so-called majesty in the state of the national united front at that time. Therefore, Yang Hucheng had the idea of going abroad to investigate, hoping to temporarily avoid the limelight abroad and stay away from domestic politics.

Chiang Kai-shek was very happy to hear Yang Hucheng's idea, and he pretended to be generous and announced: "The government can come forward to facilitate Yang Hucheng's contact with the United States, France and other countries." ”

The public celebrated the arrest of Chiang Kai-shek in the Xi'an Incident

On June 29, 1937, at the urging of Chiang Kai-shek, General Yang Hucheng took his family to the United States and Britain to investigate, but Chiang Kai-shek did not let Yang Hucheng go and launched two assassinations in succession. But for General Yang Hucheng, none of these killers could bear to kill this democratic hero, and Chu Longyin said to the central unification agent:

"If Chairman Jiang wants to kill Yang Hucheng, then what is the skill of examining and approving it in a fair and open manner, publicly executing him, and secretly killing him?"

However, not long after, Yang Hucheng heard that the Qiqi Incident had become an outbreak, and his heartfelt desire to serve the country once again surged into his heart, although he knew that returning to China would fall into the hands of Chiang Kai-shek again, but for the sake of the great plan of resisting Japan and saving the country, he still risked his life to insist on returning to China.

As expected, Yang Hucheng, who had just returned to China, was immediately detained.

Yang Hucheng's family when he returned to China

On November 30, 1937, Chiang Kai-shek ordered Dai to select spies to surround and monitor Yang Hucheng in Hong Kong, and after gradually taking control of Yang Hucheng, Chiang Kai-shek lured him to Nanchang, while his wife Xie Baozhen returned to Xi'an with his son Yang Zhengzhong.

On December 2, when Yang Hucheng stepped out of Nanchang, he was imprisoned by Dai Kasa, during which time Yang Hucheng repeatedly wrote letters to Chiang Kai-shek, but in exchange for a gradually decreasing life treatment. Poor General Yang Hucheng could only be locked up in a small black room, and could no longer fulfill his ideal of expelling the Tartars.

Yang Hucheng's wife Xie Baozhen heard that her husband was imprisoned, and she actually took the initiative to run to Nanchang to be arrested by Dai Kasa, accompanied by Yang Hucheng for 12 years. Over the past 12 years, the family has been detained many times.

In September 1938, General Yang Hucheng was escorted to Xifeng County, Guiyang City, where they could only spend the long winter in a wooden house with leaky wind and rain. In the spring of the following year, they were moved to a cave again, in this dark and damp environment Xie Baozhen was seriously ill, in order to make his wife recover, Yang Hucheng could only give the head of the secret service a sum of money, send his wife to live in the house outside the cave, but even with the money, they could only let them walk two steps outside during the day, and they had to lock inside at night.

Xie Baozhen

During this period, Xie Baozhen gave birth to a daughter, and the Yang Hucheng family who saw the child lit a fire of hope again, but Dai Kasa knew about this and actually withheld the grain of the Yang Hucheng family, and died early 8 days after the birth of the baby.

This incident really hit Xie Bao very hard, and she said to Yang Hucheng: "We still have four children outside, fortunately they are not with me..."

In 1941, Xie Baozhen gave birth to another daughter, thanks to the kindness of her mother Wu Qingzhen. The little daughter survived.

Because Xie Bao was really a member of the Communist Party, the spies here especially "cared" for her. Because the contradiction between him and the secret agents was getting deeper and deeper, he slammed them with a washbasin table and chair, and she asked the special agent captain loudly:

"Is patriotism sinful? Is it guilty to resist Japan? In what name are you imprisoning us? ”

Yang Hucheng and Yang Zhengzhong and Yang Zhenggui

After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1945, Chiang Kai-shek did not spare the slightest will of this family, under the double blow of his daughter's death and long-term imprisonment, Xie Baozhen came up with the idea of seeking death, in order to exchange her own sacrifice for the freedom of her husband and children, she began to hunger strike and swallow gold (ending her life with a wedding ring), after being rescued by the agents, she began to scold Chiang Kai-shek, the agents saw Xie Baozhen so fierce, and finally decided to kill him.

On February 8, 1947, during this Chinese New Year's Eve night, the agents tied Xie Baozhen's hands and feet, injected medicine from her legs, and closed her eyes in hatred under the cold wind, only 36 years old.

Under Yang Hucheng's bitter pleading, Xie Baozhen and her wedding ring were cremated together. Poor Yang Hucheng can only use a few pieces of worn-out wooden planks to make an urn for Xie Baozhen, since then he has always carried the urn with him, often touching the urn at night and silently weeping, while his son Yang Zhengzhong often shed tears with his father after the death of his mother, and in this quiet mountain, only the cries of father and son can be heard.

Yang Hucheng and Xie Baozhen

On January 21, 1949, Chiang Kai-shek took the initiative to go to the field under the condition of internal and external troubles, acting president Li Zongren took over as the acting president of the National Government, and with the active rescue of the Communist Party, Li Zongren admitted to releasing General Yang Hucheng, but Chiang Kai-shek, although he went to the field, still held power, and General Yang Hucheng was still not free.

On April 23, 1949, the Chinese People's Liberation Army crossed the Yangtze River and Nanjing was liberated. Chiang Kai-shek, who fled to Chongqing, knew that time was running out and completely tore his face. When Mao Renfeng, director of the Secrecy Bureau, asked for instructions on how to deal with Yang Hucheng, Chiang Kai-shek said casually: "Kill!" This kind of person should have been killed long ago! ”

Yang Hucheng was killed

Mao Renfeng, who had received Chiang Kai-shek's holy will, summoned Xu Yuanju and Zhou Yanghao, the leaders of Chongqing's secret services, and asked them to assassinate a group of "political prisoners" unknowingly, and the first group to be killed was Yang Hucheng and his secretary Song Qiyun's family.

In addition to being General Yang Hucheng's secretary, Song Qiyun was also a member of the Chinese Communist Party. In 1941, Song Qiyun and Xu Linxia and their eight-month-old son Song Zhenzhong were captured by the Kuomintang authorities, and then brutally tortured Song Qiyun and Xu Linxia for eight years.

Song Qiyun's family of three

Their child Song Zhenzhong was also imprisoned in prison for eight years, growing up in prison, he ate moldy rice every day, never saw the mountains and rivers outside, eight-year-old he was only four years old, became a small head, yellow-skinned child, the inmates called him "little radish head". Fortunately, there are many underground party members and patriots who are willing to be his teachers, so that he can tell who is good and who is bad when he grows up, and he often helps underground party members stand guard and help them at a young age.

Yang Hucheng could not bear the suffering of his old subordinates, so he brought his family to live with him in the name of "Song Qiyun was his former secretary".

However, Chiang Kai-shek killed Yang Hucheng and The Song Qiyun family, and even Song Zhenzhong, who was less than ten years old, and Yang Zhenggui, the daughter of Yang Hucheng, did not spare it.

When Xu Yuanju and Zhou Yanghao learned that Chiang Kai-shek was going to kill Yang Hucheng and Song Qiyun's family, they immediately arranged for the assassination of six killers: Yang Jinxing, Xiong Xiang, Lu Jingqing, An Wenfang, Wang Shaoshan, and Yang Qindian.

And this Yang Qindian is the 80-year-old man at the beginning of our article, who was directly involved in the assassination of General Yang Hucheng...

Yang Qindian originally joined the Kuomintang army as a poor peasant in order to survive, and at first he was still Chiang Kai-shek's bodyguard, and later he was transferred to the Central Command to work as a secret agent, and it was during this period that he met Song Qiyun. When Song Qiyun saw that this person had not yet reached the point of madness, he felt more indoctrination for Yang Qindian. Yang Qindian was also determined to do something for the Communist Party, and he often used the convenience of his position to help underground party members inquire into intelligence, exchange letters, and help buy drugs, but he never imagined that he would one day be stained with the blood of innocent people.

Yang Hucheng

On September 1, 1949, Zhou Yanghao was ordered to come to Qilin Cave to "visit" Yang Hucheng. When he saw Yang Hucheng, Zhou Yanghao said to Yang Hucheng with joy: "Congratulations! checkmate! You will soon be free, and now the Chongqing side will ask me to pick you up and announce your release in front of you. ”

Yang Hucheng still had some disbelief in his heart at this time, so he lied that he was unwell and wanted to postpone it for a few days. This week Yang Hao was not in a hurry, he was very humble to accompany Yang Hucheng to play in Guiyang, and then once again proposed to return to Chongqing. Yang Hucheng also agreed to this matter.

On September 6, 1949, Zhou Yanghao prepared three cars for Yang Chenghu and his party early in the morning, Zhou Yanghao himself sat in the first car, Yang Hucheng and his son Yang Zhengzhong were arranged in the second car, while Song Qiyun and his wife and "little turnip head" Song Zhenzhong, Yang Zhenggui of Yang Hucheng, and his lieutenants Yan Jiming and Zhang Xingmin were arranged to the third car. The group left Guiyang and went to Chongqing.

While driving to Gele Mountain in Chongqing, the first two cars suddenly accelerated, leaving the third car far behind. After getting out of the car, Yang Hucheng was very suspicious of this, and Zhou Yanghao saw this situation with a smile on his face and said, "Let's live here for two days first, we are going to wait for President Jiang to receive us, they are going to go through some formalities and come right away." After saying that, he led Yang Hucheng's father to the Dai Gong Ancestral Hall.

Yang Zhengzhong was holding his mother's ashes and walking in the rear at this time, but as soon as he pushed the door, he saw Wang Shaoshan stretch out a dagger with a cold light, and without hesitation, he stabbed into Yang Zhengzhong's waist, at this time, two people suddenly appeared behind Yang Zhengzhong, they covered Yang Zhengzhong's mouth with a white cloth and dragged him into the house, and when he was dying, Yang Zhengzhong cried out in despair: "Dad! ”

However, before he could say anything more, a mouthful of blood was sprayed on his mother's urn, and the Kuomintang agents brutally killed him and fell to the ground, only 20 years old.

Yang Hucheng, who heard the noise, immediately understood that this was a conspiracy, and he was just about to look back, but it was too late, the secret agent Xiong Xiang turned around and came to Yang Hucheng's back and stabbed him, and the agents around him left to hear the news and came to kill the national hero. Although General Yang Hucheng struggled to resist, he finally fell to the ground and died at the age of 56.

However, these two bright red lives still did not awaken the conscience of the Kuomintang agents, who had to kill the third car after cleaning up the scene, including Song Zhenzhong and Yang Zhenggui.

At this time, a big secret agent Yang Jinxing said to Yang Qindian: "After a while, the children on the car will be handed over to you, behave well!" "After saying that, I continued to start the ambush.

At this time, Yang Qindian was extremely miserable, he was not an inhuman agent, he wanted him to assassinate two small children, how could he bear it, and there was also the son of his good friend Song Qiyun, but he knew that he had to do this, if he did not throw himself into the darkness, he would immediately be swallowed up by the darkness, he wanted to live, he was just an ordinary person who wanted to live...

Soon after, the third car came to the Dai Gong Ancestral Hall, and the two lieutenants were left in the car on the grounds of "looking at the luggage", and the only people who got off at this time were Song Qiyun and his wife and 8-year-old Song Zhenzhong and Yang Zhenggui. The Kuomintang agents repeated the trick, and soon Song Qiyun and his wife fell in a pool of blood.

At the same time, Yang Qindian rushed madly to Song Zhenzhong, the "little turnip head", washed him to the ground, and choked Song Zhenzhong's neck with his own hand. However, after all, human nature is not lost, and he still can't bear to kill this child who has never seen the outside world.

Little Radish Head "Song Zhenzhong The youngest martyr on the mainland."

Yang Jinxing on the side was very speechless when he saw this, he scolded Yang Qindian as a waste, and he himself ended the child's life with a dagger, when Yang Qindian turned back to look at Yang Hucheng's daughter Yang Zhengui, she had already fallen in a pool of blood.

In this way, Yang Hucheng's father and son, Song Qiyun and their eight-year-old children all fell cruelly under the enemy's butcher's knife, and the aide-de-camp with Yang Hucheng was also killed in Chongqing in the following two months, plus a total of 9 people were killed in the case of Xie Baozhen Yang Hucheng, who died in 1947.

However, what is the end of Yang Qindian, the only one among the killers present who still has humanity?

The ending of Yang Qindian

In October 1949, news of the founding of New China reached Chongqing (Chongqing was liberated on November 30, 1949). At this time, Luo Guangbin stopped Yang Qindian. He said: "Old Yang, tell you something, new China has been founded!" ”

Yang Qindian was startled to hear this, and he suddenly grabbed Luo Guangbin's mouth, looked around, and whispered, "You can't say this nonsense." Luo Guangbin said again:

"Old Yang, you also know that the Kuomintang is about to end, so we have to leave a back road for ourselves, don't we?"

Luo Guangbin photo when he was young

Yang Qindian was afraid that Luo Guangbin would bring misfortune to himself, so he didn't say anything at the time, but he also thought it was time to find a way out.

November 27. The Kuomintang knew it could not stop the PACE of the People's Liberation Army, and before they fled, they carried out a brutal massacre of revolutionaries in prisons such as the White Mansion.

On the day of the massacre, Yang Qindian was on duty, and the White Mansion at that time held more than forty revolutionaries, which were handled by the Kuomintang Secrecy Judicial Department. At four o'clock that night, 19 people were not persecuted.

Finally, under his many psychological games, he still returned to the upper floor to get a hammer, and told Luo Guangbin next to him: "You take the hammer and the key, and when the door opens, you throw them into the sewer, but you can't go now, there are still people outside, after a while if you hear someone upstairs stomping, you will quickly run to the back mountain." After saying that, Yang Qindian went upstairs to help them stand guard

On January 30, the People's Liberation Army launched a final attack on Chongqing, which was declared liberated. The next day, Yang Qindian took the initiative to run to the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau to turn himself in.

Luo Guangbin and the other 19 people who escaped testified on the spot, hoping that the organization would exaggerate him. The local government also believed that Yang Qindian was an honest man and that the mistakes he made were also coerced, and did not pursue him, and also arranged for him to work in the local public security bureau.

However, he still felt guilty about the persecution of General Yang Hucheng in the first place, and had been a spy for so many years without the face to serve the people. He immediately refused to take office and rushed to his hometown in Henan to continue farming.

The government also respected Yang Qindian's last wishes and gave him a travel fee so that he could return to his hometown safely.

However, his old boss Yang Jinxing was not so lucky, and after liberation, he assumed the pseudonym Yang Dafa and mixed with the masses of the people. Fortunately, the masses revealed his true identity and was eventually sentenced to death.

Trial of Yang Jinxing

Later, Luo Guangbin recalled Yang Qindian and said with tears:

"Without Yang Qindian's repentance, all 19 people left in the White Mansion would have been killed, and the instructions of the party organization in prison for blood and tears would not have been preserved--therefore, Yang Qindian's final righteous deeds should be said to have objectively played an important role in preserving these historical materials and understanding the truth of the massacre."

Returning to his hometown, Yang Qindian became an authentic farmer and lived the life of ordinary people.

In 2006, after 57 years of searching, Yang Han, the grandson of General Yang Hucheng, found the old man, and after listening to Yang Qindian's story, he had mixed feelings. The 88-year-old Yang Qindian trembled his hands, and the old tearful man said, "I have waited for this day for a long time, whether you want to fight or scold, but I am really sorry for General Yang Hucheng..."

Looking at this old man seeking forgiveness, Yang Han couldn't help but sigh, he squeezed the old man's hands and said:

"It's okay, we don't blame you. I just came to see you, the previous things are all historical issues, I also hope you are in good health, I wish you a long life! ”

On November 17, 2007, Yang Qindian, who was relieved, passed away at the age of 89 after receiving forgiveness from Yang Hucheng's family.

summary

Yang Qindian himself did not have any political consciousness, he was just a small person who wanted to survive in the chaotic world, made many mistakes in order to survive, and embarked on the right path in order to survive.

But in our world, there should not be only small people, only the light of heroes can shine on the earth. It is Precisely Yang Hucheng, Song Qiyun and other revolutionary predecessors who throw their heads and spill their blood to let us have today's life. I don't despise those little people who are running for their lives, but I even more admire those revolutionary martyrs who give up their small families to take care of everyone! The people's heroes are immortal!
