Born on June 7, 1897, she was the daughter of the wealthy merchant Yu Wendou and the first wife of Zhang Xueliang.
Her name was Yu Fengzhi, and she was revered as the "First Lady of Northeast China".
In 1915, she married Zhang Xueliang and began her legendary life. The year after their marriage, they gave birth to Zhang Xueliang's only daughter, Zhang Luying. For the Zhang family, Yu Fengzhi's origin is not very good, and the main reason why Zhang Zuolin accepted her is to repay Yu Wendou's life-saving grace.
But I never thought that the industrious and intelligent Yu Fengzhi was immediately recognized by Zhang Zuolin, she worked hard, respected filial piety, and treated people kindly, which was simply a model among daughters-in-law!
However, Yu Fengzhi's husband, Zhang Xueliang, only noticed her virtuousness a long time later. In 1927, Zhang Xueliang met Miss Zhao Si, and the two fell in love.
In the face of her husband's lover, Yu Fengzhi maintained her former demeanor and gladly accepted Zhao Si, and the two felt like sisters. This made Zhang Xueliang quite moved, so he told Zhao Yidi that he would not give her the name of his wife.
However, China was in a period of darkness and chaos, and the Japanese invasion forced Zhang Xueliang to keep his family away from the northeast. After planning the Xi'an Incident and forcing Chiang Kai-shek to resist Japan, he was imprisoned for life by Chiang Kai-shek.
Yu Fengzhi, who was concerned about Zhang Xueliang, returned from England, hoping to take care of Zhang Xueliang's living in prison, but Chiang Kai-shek did not agree to it in any way, which also made Chiang Kai-shek and Song Meiling and Song Ziwen move.
Yu Fengzhi worked a lot for Zhang Xueliang, until she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1940 and then took her children to the United States again, at that time, she was living with Zhao Si in the place where Zhang Xueliang was imprisoned, and during the three years of captivity, she and Zhao took turns to take care of Zhang Xueliang, but eventually she was sent to the United States because of illness.
Since then, Yu Fengzhi and Zhang Xueliang have been separated from each other until they are separated from each other, and they have never seen each other again in their lives.
Yu Fengzhi, who successfully recovered in the United States, did not return to China, she was bent on working hard for Zhang Xueliang to come to the United States to live a stable life in the future, she entered the stock market on Wall Street and brought herself a lot of wealth, and even bought a villa for Zhang Xueliang and her to spend her old age.
However, yu Fengzhi, who had been waiting for many years, only came a divorce agreement.
At that time, Zhang Xueliang had already gone to Taiwan and received a Christian baptism, and any believer could only have one wife, in order to cut off Zhang's idea of going to the United States, the Taiwan authorities made a big fuss about this matter, and in the end, Zhang chose Zhao Si and filed a divorce with Yu Fengzhi, who was far away in the United States.
