Benaly TNT800 in the making? A patented drawing for the 799cc twin-cylinder engine was published

Recent patent drawings of a new set of Benally engines have attracted attention, and these designs demonstrate the next generation of Benari TNT's twin-cylinder engines. In fact, as early as June, Qianjiang declared a new Xiao 800 model, according to the data released at the time, combined with the news obtained this time, basically can confirm that the Xiao 800 is equipped with this engine, even if the engine design drawing has obvious TNT words on the cylinder head.

Although the design does not disclose the internal structure of the engine, it is the internal name of QJ288MW, and in the previous Snap 800 declaration data, the engine model is QJ288MW. The engine naming convention for domestic motorcycles usually begins with the manufacturer's initials, followed by the number of cylinders, followed by the cylinder size in millimeters. According to this convention, the name of the analysis is QJ, the two cylinders are 2, and 88 represents the 88 mm bore.

From the outside, this engine resembles KTM's LC8c twin-cylinder layout, and the 88mm bore dimensions are the same as KTM's 799cc engine. At present, the LC8c engine has been produced in China, and Chunfeng has launched the 800MT on this basis. However, this twin-cylinder engine is not exactly the same as the LC8c, and the support mode around the cylinder and engine bottom end is different from the KTM engine, and the casting of the cylinder head, water pump and clutch and generator cover is also different.

Of course, reverse-developed engines are not uncommon, such as Kawasaki's 650 twin-cylinder engine and Honda's CB500 engine, which are all objects of imitation. And Kaiyue also seems to have developed a similar twin-cylinder engine based on the KTM LC8c. What is currently certain is that the Snap 800 will be equipped with this engine, and this time the TNT logo on the cylinder head seems to indicate that Benali's model will also be adopted. It is puzzling that when the Benaly TRK800 was unveiled a few months ago, it was not equipped with this engine, so does this TNT logo mean that the Benaly TNT800 is about to be born?

Benali had announced plans for a new twin-cylinder engine in September 2020, when it said it intended to produce new 250cc, 380cc and 530cc single-cylinder engines, 400cc, 700cc and 900cc twin-cylinder engines, 900cc and 1200cc three-cylinder engines, and 650cc and 1000cc four-cylinder engines. The last 1000cc four-cylinder engine will be derived from the MV Agusta. Some of these engines are already being used in new models, but there is speculation that the new 799cc engine may have a longer stroke to achieve the purpose of 900cc.
