"Big Wild Donkey" KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE, finally officially announced the domestic price of the new model today, the S version equipped with radar technology and electronic suspension costs 208,800 yuan (the old model is 199,800 yuan), and the wild and difficult to tame R version is priced at 229,800 yuan (the old model is 216,800 yuan), which is higher than the price of the old model!
1290 SUPER ADVENTURE S
The KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE S focuses on the multifunctional sports station wagon market, with a focus on high performance and comfort, mainly for long-distance riding on paved roads, so it is more in terms of configuration and comfort.
The biggest highlight of the new S version is that it is equipped with the "ACC" adaptive cruise system, which is particularly useful in long-distance riding. The radar module developed with Bosch to adjust the distance to the vehicle in front of it can be used after the vehicle is connected to 2nd gear, and the speed can be set between 30 km/h and 150 km/h. Five distances can be set, and adaptive cruise automatically ends and exits when the driver actively brakes. When going downhill, the ACC system is also able to use brakes to effectively control speed.
The S version offers WP electronic suspension, 48mm WP APEX SAT fork, WP APEX SAT shock absorber, spring preload of the rear suspension with ten segment settings. The solenoid damping rate can be adjusted in real time to provide feedback on ground conditions and the driver's operation, providing three different damping modes: "Comfort", "Street", "Sport" (optional "Off-Road" and "Automatic" modes), and the driver can independently adjust the front and rear suspension units (optional).
The new model strengthens the frame with a 15 mm rearward steering column, making the new frame shorter and more compact than the old one, providing better cornering handling, stability and acceleration. The new subframe is made of hybrid forged aluminium, with an overall length of 15mm to match the ergonomic requirements of the latest design, while reducing the height of the rear seat for easy carrying of occupants or luggage.
Electronic configuration part, equipped with 7-inch full-color instrumentation, 6-axis IMU, cornering ABS, traction control system, four riding modes: street, rain, sports, off-road, optional tension mode, keyless start and so on.
In addition, the seat height can be adjusted between 849mm and 869mm, which is 11mm lower than the seat height of the previous model. New 23L fuel tank with three-chamber combination design (two low-level side-mounted tanks) and electronically controlled opening tank cover.
1290 SUPER ADVENTURE R
The new KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE R model, redesigned frame and ergonomics, readjusted WP XPLOR suspension system, more sophisticated electronics and a more powerful power platform, so that it has always maintained its position as the ultimate all-terrain driving machine in its class.
Like the S version, the R version has also significantly updated the frame, weighing only 10 kg of stainless steel mesh frame, which has been moved 15 mm in the direction of the steering head, in conjunction with the new, longer swing arm for greater corner maneuverability, stability and better acceleration. The new subframe, with mixed aluminium elements for increased strength and stability, is capable of loading heavier rear-seat passengers and luggage, while the new subframe also provides storage space under the seat cushions while the seat height has been reduced to 880 mm.
In order to take care of more field riding conditions, the R version model does not use electronic shock absorption. Instead, it is equipped with a reconfigured XPLOR front and rear shock system that has been validated by the competition, the WP XPLOR 48mm inverted fork supports compression/rebound/preload, the WP XPLOR shock absorber with PDS supports compression (high and low speed), rebound, hydraulic preload adjustment, both front and rear shock strokes are 220mm, in addition to the WP steering damper.
Electronic configuration part, with 6-axis IMU inclination sensor, traction control, four riding modes + RALLY mode (optional), keyless start, 7 inch TFT instrument, two-way quick row and so on.
The power part, the S version and the R version are equipped with the same, 1,301cc displacement V-type twin-cylinder engine, the maximum power of 118kw, the maximum torque of 138 Nm, in the public upgrade of the ADV model, this set of power data is not the strongest. But the "Big Wild Donkey" has absolutely no opponent in the field of ADV who dares to underestimate it!
