Recently, foreign media broke the news that the new KTM 125 Duke is undergoing road tests, and there is a big difference between the new model and the current model, which is another new Duke model after the exposure of the new 390 Duke.
The KTM 125 Duke dates back to 2007 and since then it has been a leader in the 125 segment. According to foreign media speculation, the new 125 Duke is expected to be listed in 2023.
The most conspicuous thing on the spy photo is the newly developed single-cylinder engine, where the catalytic converter of the exhaust pipe becomes larger and closer to the engine so that it can function faster. If you look along the manifold, you'll see a brand new engine under-collector with a short tailpipe in front of the rear wheels, and a transversely wired silencer that's a thing of the past.
The frame, suspension, subframe all seemed new. The previous steel pipe braid structure was replaced by screw-in die-cast aluminum elements. The rear seat foot extension was also changed from tubular steel to cast aluminum. The new cast rim features a five-spoke design that is even more refined. In addition, the brake discs on the front wheels were moved from the left side to the right, but it still used radially mounted calipers.
Also redesigned is the aluminum die-cast swingarm, which now has a reinforced design above the left arm and a banana-like shape on the right arm, which is typical of the asymmetrical design.
The clearly visible rear shock is placed almost horizontally on the right side and supported directly on the frame, making the one-piece die-cast subframe feel even better. In addition, the style of the rear brake discs has changed, and it seems that the design has been further lightened.
This angle can also be seen on the WP's inverted fork, which is indeed a bit oversized for a 125-class street car, and the fuel tank panel of the new model is even more front.
The split headlamp shape has also changed slightly to become more insect-like, and the dashboard adopts a family-based TFT form. Although the new 125 Duke still retains the classic style of the Duke series, the new model can also be said to have undergone major changes from the inside out. All aspects of the specifications are higher, and these changes are luxurious for street cars of class 125.
