We all know that in the middle of last year, KTM 890 Duke completed the declaration in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which means that the 890 Duke will also enter the domestic market in the form of CKD version. You should know that after the KTM 790 Duke came in the way of CKD, the price dropped by 37,000, and the price of 89,800 was a random killing of the same class of models! If the price reference of the 790 Duke CKD version is followed, the price of the 890 Duke R may be in the early 100,000 years, and the general version of the domestic version should not be provided, because the declaration diagram shows that the front brake caliper is Brembo, and the general version does not have this configuration.
The biggest difference between the KTM 890 Duke R and the 790 Duke is that it is replaced by a larger displacement 889cc in-line twin-cylinder engine, which is of course based on the 799cc twin-cylinder platform. The maximum output has been increased from 70kw/87Nm to 89Kw/99Nm, and the new engine has a higher compression ratio. And the dry weight of the 890 Duke R is only 166kg, which is 3kg lighter than the 790 Duke (169kg).
In addition to the power boost, the appearance of the KTM 890 Duke R roughly retains the appearance of the 790 Duke, but it looks more combative, in addition to the very windy rear single seat, the new color combination and orange frame can highlight the true color of the street demon.
The improvement in configuration cannot be ignored, the WP APEX 43mm inverted fork supports compression, rebound adjustment, and the WP APEX mid-mounted rear suspension also supports adjustment. The front brake calipers were upgraded to Brembo Stylema radial to four, and the rear brake calipers were upgraded to Brembo single-piston floating calipers with MCS brake cylinders.
The KTM 890 Duke R has a lower and more forward handlebar position, a seat raised to 840mm, and a more rear footrest, creating a more aggressive riding posture and greater inclination, living up to the name of a super scalpel.
TFT's instruments basically continue the design of the 790, but on the 890 Duke R, the instruments will display the mode of ABS, and all kinds of powerful electronic control assistance are naturally indispensable, four driving modes (city, sports, rain, track), MTC traction control, two-way fast row, Supermoto ABS and so on.
Of course, it has not been officially released yet, and it is impossible to determine whether the configuration will be different from the overseas version, but one thing that can be determined is that the power will not be castrated.
