In order to go to the front line without worries, he paid his salary in advance for several months before sending his wife back to his hometown and leaving money for them as living expenses.
In 1949, Zeng Zesheng was promoted to deputy division commander, his wife gave birth to a child and was hospitalized, but he could not afford to pay the hospitalization fee, and the remaining 200 yuan of hospitalization fees were paid by borrowing money from friends.
During the Anti-Japanese War, Zeng Zesheng participated in the Battle of Taierzhuang, the Battle of Wuhan, the Battle of Nanchang and the Battle of Changsha, and also participated in the expeditionary force operations, after the surrender of Japan, in November 1945, the Yunnan Army was reorganized in Vietnam, and Zeng Zesheng was promoted to the commander of the 60th Army, under the jurisdiction of the 182nd, 184th and Temporary 21st Divisions.
In the Liberation War, Zeng Zesheng's 60th Army was transferred to the northeast battlefield, and with the help of our party, Zeng Zesheng suddenly woke up, and on January 2, 1949, the PLA headquarters officially announced that the original 60th Army of the uprising was reorganized into the 50th Army of the Plaster, and the soldiers were still Zeng Zesheng.
At that time, Zeng Zesheng's uprising was supported by his three division commanders and a large number of soldiers, and Zeng Zesheng became the commander of the People's Liberation Army, so what about those soldiers under him? His three division commanders continued to serve as division commanders in the PLA 50th Army, and all soldiers became PLA soldiers.
In addition to the original officers, the newly formed 50th Army added many PLA officers and combat backbones, which greatly improved the overall quality of the whole army.
It is worth mentioning that the 50th Army captured Xiao Bingyin, acting commander of the Kuomintang 79th Army, and li Weilong, deputy commander of the Army, and more than 7,000 officers and men, and later in the Battle of Chengdu, captured more than 8,100 Kuomintang troops and captured a large number of weapons and ammunition.
What is even more remarkable is that on October 25, 1950, the 50th Army participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea as the first batch of volunteers, participated in the first, second and third battles, and performed very well in the third campaign, defeating the resistance of one battalion of the American army and one Battalion of the British army.
According to the statistics of the results of the war, the 50th Army of the Volunteer Army killed and wounded more than 300 enemy prisoners, captured and destroyed 31 tanks, and 24 tractors, which can be called a brilliant achievement, but in the fourth battle, the 50th Army completed the task of blocking the western front at the cost of more than half of the losses.
On March 15, 1951, Zeng Zesheng led the 50th Army back to China to rest, and later participated in the combat mission of crossing the sea and capturing the island, the 50th Army can be called a mighty division that can fight hard battles, in 1955, Zeng Zesheng was awarded the rank of lieutenant general, until his death in 1973, at the age of 71.
