Lu Dingyi, a native of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, was born in a family of famous and prestigious people, received a good education from an early age, and also laid a solid foundation for his later propaganda work.
After Lu Dingyi joined the revolution, because of his high level of education, he has been engaged in propaganda work, successively serving as the propaganda director of the General Political Department of the Red Army, the propaganda director of the General Political Department of the Eighth Route Army, and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he also served as the propaganda director and the minister of culture, which shows his important position in the propaganda post.
The chairman once concluded: "The Long March is a declaration, the Long March is a propaganda team, and the Long March is a seeding machine. Therefore, "propaganda" can be said to be the most important thing on the road of the Red Army's Long March, and Lu Dingyi's role in it is naturally extremely important, and even the word "Long March" is also from his hand.

The Daliangshan area is a Yi concentrated area, because of the long period of closure, coupled with the Suppression and Exploitation of them by the Kuomintang, they are very jealous and afraid of the Han people, which adds a lot of uncertainty to the Central Red Army's overtaking of Liangshan.
In order to solve this problem, the Central Committee demands that the policies of our Party and the Red Army be comprehensively disseminated to the masses of the Yi nationality; first of all, the idea of equality of all nationalities is emphasized within our Party and our army, and at the same time the living habits of the Yi masses are explained, and all the soldiers of the Red Army are required to widely issue announcements and policies to the Yi masses.
Moreover, Lu Dingyi personally wrote a notice, and when Mr. Zhu saw it, he clapped his hands and praised it, saying that the sentences of the notice rhymed, were catchy, the content was easy to understand, and the instructions should be widely posted.
After this notice was posted, it caused a huge repercussion among the Yi masses, and they gained a completely new understanding of our Party and the Red Army and began to support them.

Later, the chairman also saw this notice, especially the word "Long March" in it, praised it and said that it was summed up very well, and later, the "Long March" was called open.
During the Long March period, Lu Dingyi felt a lot of feelings, and later wrote a lot of works about the Long March, such as "The Golden Fish Hook" and "Old Mountain Boundary", which were later selected into the language textbook and became familiar works for generations.
Lu Dingyi's first wife was named Tang Yizhen, who served as the director of the Medicinal Materials Bureau of the General Health Ministry and the director of the Sanitary Materials Factory, and was a hero who bore him a son and a daughter.
When the Long March was about to depart, Tang Yizhen's son was about to be born, unable to compete with the captain, helpless, Lu Dingyi entrusted his wife and 3-year-old daughter to his comrades-in-arms and embarked on the road of the Long March. Later, Lu Dingyi learned that after giving birth to a son, his wife entrusted her son to her compatriots, and she went to Fujian with the troops to fight guerrillas, and later unfortunately was arrested, heroically righteous, only 25 years old.
After the founding of New China, Lu Dingyi has not forgotten to look for his own sons and daughters, and the kung fu pays off, first finding his son who has been separated for 46 years, and later, finding a daughter who has been separated for 53 years, which is also very lucky.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, although Lu Dingyi did not participate in the awarding of titles, his position was very high, he served as propaganda minister, minister of culture, and was elected vice premier in 1959, along with Mr. Peng, Mr. He, Mr. Chen, and others.
On May 9, 1996, Lu Dingyi passed away at the age of 90.
Before his death, Lu Dingyi left two sentences for his son, one was "Let the children go to school" and the other was "Let the people speak."
