It is understood that the annual lunar calendar "March 3" is the day when the Miao and Yi compatriots in Jinpen Township, Zhongshan District and the surrounding Miao and Yi ethnic groups carry out the traditional customs of "March 3" in the Tianshengqiao Scenic Area, which has a history of thousands of years. The Miao and Yi compatriots have always adhered to the teachings of their ancestors and admired nature, they regard trees as gods, and are not allowed to enter the forest to cut down trees at will, and they are a people who love nature and worship nature.
At about 12 o'clock at noon on the same day, dozens of embroiderers carried out the "Golden Finger" embroidery competition on the top of Tiansheng Bridge in Jinpen Township. At the scene of the competition, the embroiderers relied on their exquisite skills and used the unique techniques of the nation to show the posture of various patterns on a small white cloth to the fullest.
"I met a lot of embroiderers in this competition, they are real masters, although they did not achieve a good ranking in this competition, but every thread they embroidered is a trace of affection, every stitch is a blessing. Tao Yanyan, an embroiderer who participated in the embroidery competition for the first time, said that she wanted to pass on the culture of Yi embroidery through this competition.
Boxing, catching geese, clapping shuttlecocks, fighting tops, tug-of-war...... On the observation deck on the other side, various folk activities are also in full swing. In the boxing event, the fighters hold their breath, carefully observe the subtle expressions of their opponents, guess their opponents' punches, and try to give themselves the upper hand as much as possible. In the tug-of-war event, the contestants were divided into two groups, pulling the rope tacitly, and with a command, they formed a joint force to pull the rope to their own end. In the waist hug event, two competitors hold each other's waists, and the one who throws their opponent to the ground wins. The cheers, shouts, applause, and laughter at the event site came and went.
After appreciating the special embroidery and participating in the folk activities, it was time to taste the special food. At the long table banquet in the afternoon, the Miao and Yi compatriots formed a band at the entrance, suona and reed sheng chanted, and the hospitable Miao family sister also held rice wine and sang toasting songs, toasting to each tourist, expressing the welcome to distant guests, the scene was very lively.
The 84-meter-long long table banquet is filled with traditional Miao dishes such as mutton, potatoes and bacon, and visitors enjoy the traditional Miao specialties while recording the good times with their cameras or mobile phones.
