After a lengthy legal process, arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver's divorce was finalized on Tuesday, more than 10 years after the initial application, according to multiple foreign media reports.
The former couple announced separation in May 2011 — after 25 years of marriage — and now formally divorced, mediated by a private judge and lengthy property settlement agreement, complicating the legal breakup, according to TMZ.
Schwarzenegger and Shriver met in 1977 and met in Hyannis, Massachusetts, on April 26, 1986. They have four children — Catherine, 32, Christina, 30, Patrick, 28, and Christopher, 24 — and married during Schwarzenegger's tenure as governor of California, from 2003 to 2011.
Schleber first filed for divorce on June 1, 2011, citing irreconcilable disagreements after Schwarzenegger publicly announced he had a child with a longtime family member of the family. However, the exes have always been friendly and often appear at public events with their children.
