In 2022, GAC Plans to Challenge its goal of increasing its annual production and sales by 15% year-on-year.
On December 23, GAC Group issued an announcement summarizing the completion of operations in 2021 and proposing to fully challenge the goal of 15% year-on-year growth in production and sales in 2022.
According to the announcement, GAC Group expects to produce and sell approximately 2.098 million units and 2.113 million units in 2021, up about 3.1% and 3.4% year-on-year, respectively.
In the first 11 months of this year, GAC Group's cumulative production was 1.8702 million units, up 3.09% year-on-year, and its cumulative sales volume was 1.911 million units, up 4.14% year-on-year.
At the beginning of this year, GAC Group set its sales target for FY2021 at 10% growth, or 2.248 million units. This means that 337,000 vehicles will need to be sold in December, which seems to be impossible to achieve.
This year, the entire automobile industry continued to be affected by chip shortages, supply chain instability, rising raw material prices, repeated epidemics and other multiple unfavorable factors, GAC Group achieved positive year-on-year production and sales growth, it is not easy.
In particular, the independent brands GAC Aian and GAC Trumpchi have achieved more than expected results; in the joint venture sector, the pace of new product launching and distribution of "Liangtian" has been accelerating, achieving a smooth transition under the impact of lack of core.
GAC Aean
Thanks to the resource tilt of the entire group, GAC Aeon maintained a rapid growth momentum. Since May, GAC Aeon terminals have delivered more than 10,000 consecutively, and in November, the wholesale sales exceeded 15,000, and the proportion of private users increased to 84%. From January to November, GAC Aeon sold 105,700 vehicles, completing the annual target of 120,000 units ahead of schedule.
The continuous increase in sales volume is closely related to the gradual enrichment of GAC Aeon's product matrix.
This year, GAC Aeon launched three new products, AION Y, AION S Plus and Aion V Plus, further improving the core market model matrix of new energy vehicles in the price range of 100,000-350,000. GAC Aion LX Plus was also officially unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show and is reported to be officially launched in January 2022.

With the increase in sales, the production capacity of the Aehan plant is also being expanded, and the production capacity of the EAN plant is planned to reach 200,000 units in early 2022 and double to 400,000 units in 2023. In addition, GAC Aean Has completed its asset restructuring, and the next step will be to launch employee shareholding and Series A financing.
GAC Trumpchi
Gac Trumpchi, in the first two months of the fourth quarter, reached 35,000 units, and sales are expected to be about 300,000 units during the year. In terms of exports, as of the end of November, GAC Trumpchi exported a total of 17,000 vehicles, an increase of 60.2% year-on-year.
This year is the big year of GAC Trumpchi's products, and has successively launched new or replaced and medium-modified models such as Shadow Leopard EMPIRE, GS4 PLUS, second-generation GS8, M6 Pro and so on. Among them, since the launch of Shadow Leopard EMPIRE in August, the average monthly order has exceeded 10,000 units.
It is worth mentioning that GAC Trumpchi has officially announced the opening of full hybridization, and recently released the first model of the "hybridization + intelligence" dual-core strategy, that is, the second-generation GS8. According to the plan, GAC Trumpchi put forward the goal of hybridizing all models by 2025, and hybrid sales accounted for more than 60% in 2030, challenging to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045.
Joint venture brand
Although the rise of independent brands is obvious, the sales pillars of GAC Group, GAC Honda and GAC Toyota, have been greatly affected by the supply chain this year, and even once experienced a 40% year-on-year decline in production capacity.
As of the end of November, GAC Honda has achieved cumulative production and sales of 693,000 units and 702,000 units, respectively, and GAC Toyota has produced and sold 720,000 units and 729,000 units, respectively, and is expected to produce and sell 800,000 units within the year.
It is worth mentioning that this year, the two joint venture brands have entered a new round of product launch cycle, especially for the electrification of intelligent new product structure to accelerate the adjustment.
Guangqi Honda has launched models such as model grid, Haoying plug-in hybrid version, the first pure electric sedan Shule, Lingpai, Accord and Odyssey.
GAC Toyota has launched 6 new models, the new Camry, the fourth generation Highlander hybrid version sales are considerable, the first MPV model Sai Na into the 400,000 yuan luxury brand price range.
Next year will be the production capacity construction cycle of "two fields". Including GAC Toyota's annual output of 200,000 "new energy vehicles" production capacity expansion project (fourth line), TNGA series engine construction project, and GAC Honda's annual production capacity expansion project of 120,000 new energy vehicles.
At the same time, both Honda and Toyota have put forward the goal of electrification transformation in recent times. Under the trend of global electrification transformation, it can be expected that GAC Honda and GAC Toyota will also put electrification plans on the agenda.

According to the forecast of the China Automobile Association, the total domestic automobile sales will reach 26.1 million units in 2021, an increase of 3.1% year-on-year, and the total sales volume of GAC Group at the end of the year has great hopes of outperforming the market.
