Microsoft has confirmed that it will suspend the development of the Win11 version during the holidays, so the next system version will not be launched until 2022, that is, Windows 11 Build 22523 will be the last new version of Win11 to be pushed this year.
It is reported that the specific name of the patch pushed this time is "Windows 11 Insider Preview 22523 (rs_prerelease)", just like other system updates provided by the Insider program, users can directly upgrade through Windows Update after joining the Insider channel. Microsoft confirmed that the update of Windows 11 Build 22523 will not be tied to a specific Win11 official version, so it is difficult to say when the new features pushed by this preview version will appear in the official version of Win11.
It is reported that the main content of this update is:
1. The snap groups function opened for the first time on Build 22494 in early November is open to all Insiders, and users can experience it through ALT + TAB key combinations or task view, the effect is similar to when hovering over the taskbar activity program.
2. Open this computer and use "..." to add and remove media servers.
3. Transfer more functions from the Control Panel to the new Settings, including programs and features (Settings - Installed), Uninstall Cumulative Updates (Settings - Update - Update History).
In addition, this preview version also fixes bugs such as battery level values above 100%, icons that do not overlap with date and time on multi-screen monitors when opening multi-screen programs.
However, as a preview system, Win11 Build 22523 also has the following issues.
1. There is an error that cannot log in to applications such as Feedback Hub, which can be temporarily solved by restarting the desktop.
2. There is an error that may not be able to enter text in the Search for the Start Menu or Taskbar.
3. The taskbar may flicker when switching input methods. In addition, the network icon of the taskbar may disappear, and the problem can be temporarily solved by restarting the explorer .exe.
4. When multiple monitors are connected to the device, right-click on the date and time in the taskbar, File Explorer may crash.
5. The search panel may not open.
6. The signal strength indicator of the Wi-Fi menu does not reflect the signal strength.
