The Whampoa Military Academy is a military academy that affects the trend of modern history during the Republic of China period, and also cultivates a large number of military talents, although it was created late, but its influence is far greater than that of the Tangwutang in Yunnan and the Baoding Military Academy. It should be known that the reason why Chiang Kai-shek was able to succeed in the Northern Expedition was entirely due to Huangpusheng, including Huangpusheng during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and at the same time, he also trained a number of generals who could recruit good warriors, such as "Hu Lian, Guan Linzheng, Wang Yaowu, Du Yuming, and Song Xilian", as well as Xu Shuai, Lin Shuai, and Chen Geng of the Eighth Route Army, all graduated from the Huangpu Military Academy.
As the first principal of the first phase of Huangpu, Chiang Kai-shek also relied on the support of Huangpusheng to control the internal affairs of the Nationalist army for a long time, so Chiang Kai-shek attached great importance to Huangpusheng. However, due to Chiang Kai-shek's busy schedule, Guan Linzheng, who graduated from the First Phase of Whampoa, was made the principal of the Whampoa Military Academy. However, on September 20, 1949, Guan Linzheng retired, when the third president of the Whampoa Military Academy was a tough man in the War of Resistance, and in the eight years of the War of Resistance, he repeatedly made military achievements and became a veritable hero of the War of Resistance, he was General Zhang Yaoming.
Zhang Yaoming, a native of Lintong County, Shaanxi Province, under the introduction of Yu Youren, he went south with Guan Linzheng and Du Yuming to apply for the Huangpu Military Academy together, and successfully became a first-term student of Huangpu, and the above three later became generals with outstanding military achievements, in fact, in addition to the above three, among the famous generals of the Nationalist Army, there were Hu Lian, Zhang Lingfu were all Shaanxi people, but these two were the fourth phase of Huangpu, which really responded to the old saying, Shaanxi has been famous since ancient times.
After graduating from the military academy, Zhang Yaoming began a troublesome military career, and after the Period of the Northern Expedition and the Warlord Scuffle, he was promoted from an ordinary soldier to the position of brigade commander.
After the 918 Incident, when the Japanese Kou marched into Shanhaiguan, he followed General Guan Linzheng to participate in the Great Wall Resistance, in fact, in the following war career, Zhang Yaoming has always followed General Guan Linzheng, including later serving as the commander of the 25th Division, all of which were recommended by Guan Linzheng, and it should be known that the 25th Division is known as the Qianliju Division as the ace division in the national army.
When the War of Resistance broke out in full swing, Zhang Yaoming led the 25th Division to fight against the Japanese and Kou many times in Baoding, Cangzhou and other places, and vigorously defeated the enemy Shi Feiyuan Division, playing the prestige of Shaanxi Lengwa, and even Shi Feiyuan called Zhang Yaoming a respectable opponent and a tough man.
Soon after, Zhang Yaoming participated in the Battle of Taierzhuang and the Battle of Xuzhou, and bravely killed the enemy on the battlefield and annihilated the little devil, so he was promoted to deputy commander of the 52nd Army, the commander at that time was Guan Linzheng, but soon after when Guan was promoted to commander-in-chief of the group army, Zhang took over as the commander of the 52nd Army. He also participated in the Battle of Changsha, repelled the Japanese in the first frontal battle in northern Hunan and achieved a great victory in Xiangbei. This battle also shows that "the national army has the strength to defeat the enemy on the spot."
In the same year, Zhang Yaoming was also ordered by Chiang Kai-shek to enter Yunnan from Hunan to defend the border defense of Yunnan and Burma, and to prevent the Japanese from entering Yunnan and destroying the southwest rear base.
However, on September 20, 1949, Zhang Yaoming served as the third president of the Whampoa Military Academy, but at this time, the Chiang family dynasty was already in turmoil, and at this time, he who took over as the principal of the Whampoa Military Academy was equivalent to a hot potato, not a fat difference.
Especially after Liu Deng's army entered the southwest, at this time Chiang Kai-shek wanted to review the military students at the Whampoa Military Academy, who knew that on the same day, when the flag-raising ceremony was held, the national flag suddenly fell, which made Chiang Kai-shek very embarrassed, no matter how much he would blame Zhang Yaoming, because he was the principal at that time, as the saying goes: if you want to add to the crime, there is no excuse.
Therefore, when Zhang Yaoming arrived in Taiwan, he was detained by Chiang Kai-shek for the crime of losing the military academy, so he also became the only principal of the Whampoa Military Academy who was detained by Chiang Kai-shek.
