After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he was directly stripped of his military power by Chiang Kai-shek and was hidden in the snow for four years, until the Kuomintang defeated the mainland and retreated to Taiwan, but he was never reactivated.

Chiang Kai-shek couldn't figure out how a small 11th Division could produce so many broken things, and the contradictions between Cao Wanshun, Chen Cheng, and Guan Linzheng were irreconcilable and could only make other plans.
Therefore, Chiang Kai-shek was forced to transfer Cao Wanshun to the commander of the newly organized 1st Division, with Chen Cheng as the division commander.
Before this incident, Luo Zhuoying, deputy commander of the 18th Army, had recommended Chen Cheng to his superiors to serve as the commander of the division, and when asking guan Linzheng and others for their opinions,

After this storm, Guan Linzheng did not return to the center of political power of the Kuomintang until the period of the War of Resistance Against Japan, and most of his return was promoted by relying on his outstanding military achievements.

This is a poem given to him by Guan Linzheng's classmate Huang Jie, from the day of the "July 7 Incident", Guan Linzheng led a large army to resist the war in the northern section of the Pinghan Line, and then switched to Shandong and Henan, fighting in a variety of flexible ways such as night raids, fleeing from the wilderness of the Japanese Kou and retreating from Handan and Wu'an.
In 1939, when the Japanese army gathered 100,000 troops, land, sea and air, and marched towards northern Hunan in an attempt to occupy Changsha.
General Guan Linzheng, who was sitting in northern Hunan Province, commanded a large army to fight fiercely with the Japanese Kou for several days, successfully defended the position, and defeated the enemy army in all directions, winning a great victory.
The combat capability of General Guan Linzheng's troops is not something that can be described in a few words, but in a few battle scenes, there was once a Japanese officer who spoke highly of guan Linzheng's army, saying that Guan Linzheng's army was equivalent to 10 corps of ordinary Chinese troops.
At the military conference, Chiang Kai-shek also highly praised Guan Linzheng, saying that if all the troops had the same strong combat ability as Guan Linzheng's troops, defeating the Japanese army would not be a problem at all.

Under the general trend, Chiang Kai-shek had no choice but to restrain his other thoughts and focus his main energy on the anti-Japanese resistance.
Compared with the anti-Japanese war, those nationalist generals who are proficient in playing politics are not enough to see, so in this battlefield of the anti-Japanese resistance, many new generals have emerged, such as the well-known General Xue Yue, and he was once named the "God of War".
It is reasonable to say that such an important anti-Japanese minister would be reused after the victory of the war, but Chiang Kai-shek did not play the ordinary card, and at the end of the War of Resistance Against Japan in 1945, Guan Linzheng was abolished and completely hidden.
In October of that year, Chiang Kai-shek sent Guan Linzheng to be the commander of the Yunnan Garrison, who knew that the Kuomintang military and police actually used cruel means to suppress the student movement when students marched in the streets, resulting in the murder of four teachers and students.
Suddenly, the Kuomintang's notoriety was infamous, arousing the people's indignation, and the people gathered around the gate of the government and shouted slogans to punish the murderers, asking the Kuomintang government to investigate and deal with them as soon as possible and return them the truth.
In order to appease the people's anger, Chiang Kai-shek pulled Guan Linzheng out, acted as a scapegoat, and gave him a punishment of "suspension of office".
At this time, Guan Linzheng had only been in office for less than a month, and he did not understand the beginning and end of this matter at all, and could only say that he was caught in a basin and had no place to justify it.
Guan Linzheng understood that if something went wrong, the main culprit would certainly not be attributed to the National Government or to Chiang Kai-shek.

After that, Guan Linzheng had been waiting for Chiang Kai-shek's new orders, looking forward to his return to politics and returning to his peak period, but after waiting for nearly a year, he only waited for the post of Chengdu Army Officer School.

From the commander of the commander-in-chief's side to the chief of education in a school, the gap is inevitably too big.
