In 1925, Zhu Ziqing received a letter from his father, in which he wrote: "I am in good health, but my shoulders are in severe pain, I hold up a pen, there are many inconveniences, and the period of about the great disappearance is not far away." Zhu Ziqing completed "Back Shadow" in tears. This reminiscent essay has touched generations of readers with its authenticity and sincerity. Today, let me read Zhu Ziqing's "Back Shadow". (Board Book: 1925)

Reading Father - "Back Shadow" (Zhu Ziqing) and "Wine" (Jia Pingwa)

Task 1: Remember the story of your father

Activity 1: Retelling the Story of Father and Son

Quickly browse the article, circle out the sentences describing the story of the father and son, and repeat a few things about the father mentioned in the article?

Presets: unemployed funeral, station farewell, insisting on buying oranges, dying letters

Teacher: Which of these stories with his father is the most memorable to the author?

Activity 2: Read the father's back

Ask your classmates to read this passage (natural paragraph 6) about buying oranges together and tell me where you think it is well written.

Go buy oranges: I saw him wearing a small black cloth hat, a black cloth coat, a dark green cotton robe, waddling to the side of the railway, slowly leaning down, it was not too difficult. But he crossed the railway track, and it was not easy to climb the platform over there. He climbed up with both hands and shrank his feet upwards; his fat body leaned slightly to the left, showing the look of effort, when I saw his back, and my tears flowed quickly.

Preset: Father's dress – black, blue

The posture of walking – waddling

The action of climbing the platform - probing, climbing, shrinking, leaning (focus analysis)

This sentence uses a close-up lens to describe the elderly father's action of crossing the railway and climbing the platform, because there is nothing to grasp, can only be held down with the hand, and then forcefully support the body to "climb", "shrink" the word indicates that there is nowhere to pedal, the feet are suspended, so that the strength of the whole body is concentrated on the hand, "leaning" image writes out the father's difficult but very hard look of climbing, this back shadow reveals a strong love for the son and a huge father's love power, causing people to cry.

Teacher: The article writes about the back of the father who buys oranges again and again, and from the lines between the lines, we can see that in the whole process of the father buying oranges, Zhu Ziqing, as a son, is there to watch his father, and when you love someone, your eyes will follow him. The author actually unconsciously revealed a deep sense of licking at that moment.

Seeing such a back, we were all touched, not to mention Zhu Ziqing, who was a son, "My tears quickly flowed down." From this, we can see that Zhu Ziqing was touched by his father. (Board Book: Moved)

Teacher: After you finished reading it, what do you think of the feelings between father and son? Has the relationship between them always been like this in the text? Have I always been touched by what my father did for me? (thus focusing on the 5th natural paragraph of the text)

Task Two: Understand the son's emotional changes

Activity 1: Peruse the 5th natural paragraph of the text and find a sentence that describes "my" attitude towards my father.

I was really too smart at that time, and I always felt that he was not very beautiful when he spoke, and I had to interject myself...

My heart laughed at his pedantry.

Now that I think about it, it was so clever then! (Board Book: Dark Laughter)

Default:

At the station to say goodbye, my father also did a lot of things for "me":

He took care of my luggage for me.

Negotiate the price with the porter.

He picked me a table by the car door.

He told me to be careful on the road, to be alert at night, and to take good care of me.

The word "smart" is an anti-language, a kind of self-reproach and irony of the author's own behavior at that time, regretting that he did not understand his father's painstaking heart at that time.

This kind of hindsight awakened words not only highlights the father's concern for himself, but also expresses the author's love for his father.

Teacher: How old was the author at that time? (20 years old) This is the story of what happened to my father in 1917, when I was more smiling at my father. But in 1925, the author had a good understanding of his father, so that the author wrote this touching article 8 years later. (Board Book: 1917)

Activity 2: Read the sentence of the 7th natural paragraph of the text together and feel the emotional change of "me" towards my father again

In recent years, my father and I have been traveling from home to home. He went out as a teenager to earn a living, supported independently, and did many great things. Which old country is so decadent! He was shocked and sad, and naturally could not help himself. In it, it is natural to be outside; family trivia often touches his anger. I'm getting different. But after not seeing me for the past two years, he finally forgot my badness, just thinking about me, thinking about my son.

Supplementary Materials:

Father's love is a thin, silent river flowing. --Zhu Ziqing

"The father was unable to move, moved to the window, leaned on the small chair, put on reading glasses, and recited his son's article "Back Shadow" word by word, only to see his hands trembling unceasingly, and his dim eyes seemed to suddenly radiate brilliance." A few years after seeing "Back Shadow," my father passed away with a satisfied smile. ——Zhu Guohua, "Zhu Ziqing and <'s Back shadow >"

Many years later, Zhu Ziqing, who thought he was a father, understood his father, so he wrote such a sentence and wrote such an article. (Board book: do not understand - understand)

Between not understanding and understanding, it is the ruthless years that are buried

Between not understanding and understanding, it is the torrent of love that is deeply hidden

Task Three: Fathers in the Book Series

Please silently read the eight language theme series 4 "Taste in the World" p18 "Wine" article, share the thing that touched your heart, that action, that sentence, that word...

What touched me the most was the paragraph, which sentence (which action, etc.), which was expressed (father/"I")

emotion.

Through these two articles today, we know two fathers who express their feelings in different ways.

Task 4: Letter to Father (Homework)

We've just read about other people's fathers, and there must have been a lot of stories between you and your father. After studying today's two articles, carefully recall the little things between you and your father that you ignored, and write a letter to your father.

Conclusion: "Changing Dad"

4 years old: My dad can do anything.

5 years old: My dad knows everything.

6 years old: My dad is smarter than your dad.

8 years old: My dad wasn't omniscient.

10: My dad grew up in a very different era than we grew up in.

12 years old: Oh well! Naturally, Dad didn't know anything about it. He was too old to remember his childhood.

14 years old: Don't pay too much attention to my dad. He was an old scoundrel.

20 years old: him? Oh, my God! His staleness is really incurable.

25: Dad didn't know much about me, but he had been around me for so long that he really should have known.

30: Maybe I should ask my dad what he thinks? After all, he is experienced.

35: I don't do anything unless I've talked to my dad.

Teacher: The so-called changing father is actually the son of change, and the understanding of the father at each age stage is different. We were fortunate to read "Back Shadow" written by Zhu Ziqing at the age of 14 to 28, giving us a warning to read our father carefully.
