In the history of our party, Bogu (formerly known as Qin Bangxian) was once a very important figure, once serving as the supreme leader.
Less well known is that his younger brother was also a remarkable figure named Qin Bangli.
So, to say that Qin Bangli is a great figure, what are the specific achievements? At least two are to be remembered by history.
The first merit was that after Gu Shunzhang's rebellion, he shouldered the heavy responsibility of our party's underground transportation.
Qin Bangli was born in 1908 in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, originally the Qin family in Wuxi is a famous family, rich and wealthy, but with the death of his father, the Qin family also began to decline, in order to let his brother and sister continue to study, Qin Bangli dropped out of school at the age of 14 and went to a money house as an apprentice.
It was in this money house that Qin Bangli came into contact with many revolutionary figures, and under the leadership of Yan Pu, he participated in the autumn harvest uprising in Wuxi.
After the failure of the Autumn Harvest Uprising, Qin Bangli took refuge in Shanghai, working as an apprentice in a shop while secretly engaging in underground transportation work.
In 1931, after Gu Shunzhang and Xiang Zhongfa defected one after another, the organization of our party in Shanghai was seriously damaged, and Zhou Enlai, the leader of the Central Special Branch, was forced to leave Shanghai, and the heavy responsibility of the Central Special Branch was entrusted to Chen Yun.
At that time, the situation of the Central Special Branch was extremely dangerous, the people in front of him were exposed, the places of contact were monitored by the reactionaries, and new underground personnel and new places of contact had to be developed.
It was at this time that Bogu introduced his younger brother Qin Bangli to Chen Yun. After investigation, Chen Yun felt that Chen Bangli was loyal to the party, meticulous and cautious, courageous and strategic, and immediately made a decision for him to be a traffic officer and make one-line contact with himself.
Since then, Qin Bangli has been tempered in the harsh struggle, and his most outstanding task is to safely send a group of important leaders of our party in Shanghai to the Central Soviet Region.
In 1933, the Provisional Central Committee decided to move some important cadres to the Central Soviet Region and leave in three batches, and this task fell to Qin Bangli. It was under his careful arrangement that Liu Shaoqi, Zhang Wentian, Bogu, Lin Boqu, Chen Geng and Li De, and other important leaders all arrived safely in the Central Soviet Region.
Among them, the most legendary is the escort of Li De, because Li De is German, his appearance is very obvious, and under the enemy's strict card check, he cannot reach the Soviet zone under any circumstances. Qin Bangli personally escorted Li De as a tourist, a businessman, a scientific expedition, and sometimes a missionary, and after careful relay arrangements from various places, li De finally arrived safely in the Central Soviet Area.
After escorting these leaders, Qin Bangli continued to return to Shanghai to lurk, and in the name of doing business, he continuously delivered various materials and scarce commodities to the Central Soviet Region.
During this period, Chen Yun never mentioned him to everyone for the sake of Qin Bangli's safety, but only had a one-line contact with himself, and even his superior, Zhou Enlai, only knew that there was such a number one person, and once, Zhou Enlai also specially instructed Chen Yun: "This red chess piece of the central government must be protected!" ”
Later, the Japanese army attacked Shanghai on a large scale, and Qin Bangli's business could not be done, so he went to Yan'an according to Chen Yun's instructions.

Qin Bangli's second achievement is that he started with two gold bars and made important contributions to the collection of materials and funds for our party.
One night, Chen Yun solemnly handed over two gold bars to Qin Bangli and said to him: "The central government can only give you so much money. ”
Qin Bangli had been a shop apprentice in Shanghai and Wuxi in his early years, and the business set had long been learned, he first used these two gold bars to open a rice shop, and the rice shop gradually made profits, and then successively opened a sugar factory and a stationery cigarette shop. These shops are very prosperous under his management, and a large amount of money is continuously sent to the Soviet area. At the same time, these shops also became secret transportation stations for the Shanghai underground party, and many important meetings were held.
After the outbreak of the All-out War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, our party encountered tremendous economic difficulties in northern Shaanxi, and Chen Yun thought of Qin Bangli again; after reporting to Chairman Mao and the central authorities for approval, Chen Yun specifically talked to him once in secret, conveyed to him the decision of the central authorities, asked him to open a company in Hong Kong, alleviated the central financial difficulties, and was also responsible for raising funds and materials among overseas Chinese and Hong Kong and Macao compatriots to support the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army in resisting Japan.
After arriving in Hong Kong in the autumn of 1938, Qin Bangli immediately began to work, with 30,000 Hong Kong dollars as the registered capital, and opened the "Lianhe Bank". Because he was well-run, had particularly strong communication skills, and could speak several foreign languages, the business of the "United Bank" was very hot, and a large amount of materials and funds were continuously sent to the troops of the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army.
After the fall of Hong Kong in December 1941, under the leadership of Zhou Enlai, Qin Bangli made a great contribution to the transfer of more than 800 democrats and cultural celebrities to the mainland and overseas.
Later, Qin Bangli arrived in Chongqing, and under the direct leadership of Zhou Enlai, continued to engage in commercial operations, and became a red businessman under the pseudonym Yang Lin.
During the Liberation War, Qin Bangli was ordered to return to Hong Kong again and continue to open the "Lianhe Bank", the main task of which was to transport grain from the northeast in exchange for industrial materials, and at the same time provide material funds to the central government.
As the company grew larger, Qin Bangli renamed "Lianhe Bank" to "Lianhe Import and Export Company", and later renamed "China Resources Company", "Hua" represents China, "Run" is from Chairman Mao's word "Runzhi", Qin Bangli served as the first chairman.
Today's China Resources Company is still very strong, in the 2020 World Top 500 Enterprises Ranking, China Resources Group ranked 79th, in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences released in the 2018 Corporate Social Responsibility Ranking, China Resources Group is at the top of the list!
In September 1949, our party held the first political consultative conference, and Qin Bangli made new contributions, secretly sending He Xiangning, Shen Junru, Zhang Bojun, and more than 350 democrats, more than 700 cultural celebrities, and patriotic overseas Chinese who were living in Hong Kong to the mainland and attending the CPPCC meeting on time.
When Premier Zhou reported this matter to Chairman Mao, Chairman Mao said with emotion: "Sooner or later, the merits of Qin Bangli will be known to everyone, but now they can only be buried in our hearts!" ”
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Qin Bangli continued to serve as the chairman of China Resources Company, and also served as the director of the Planning Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the Central Committee and the executive deputy director of the State Foreign Economic Liaison Committee, making outstanding contributions to the foreign trade of New China.
On December 10, 1968, Qin Bangli unfortunately passed away at the age of 60.
