After studying in Switzerland: Take stock of the must-eat foods of Switzerland

1. Fondue

When it comes to Swiss representative cuisine, the first reaction is the cheese fondue. Unlike Chinese hot pot, the Swiss pot uses melted cheese at the bottom of the pot, which is eaten with local bread or other ingredients dipped in melted cheese, and served with white wine, gin or black tea to dissolve the thickness of the cheese, which is definitely a delicious meal.

2. Berner Platte

Ham, bacon, ribs, pork knuckles, bone marrow, sauerkraut, beans, potatoes – the Berner Platte is a gourmet feast that dates back to 5 March 1798. On this day, Bern defeated the French army at Neuenegg and held a feast to celebrate the victory. Every family gives everything they want. The Bernese platter was born. Thankfully, this delicacy still exists today and is wildly popular.

3. Birchermüesli oatmeal

Invented by Swiss doctors around 1900, healthy food is made with oatmeal, lemon juice, condensed milk, grated apples, hazelnuts or almonds, and anything else you want to put in.

4. Potato cake (Rösti)

The original Rösti was invented by accident as a farmhouse breakfast, and has since been developed, and this convenient and delicious dish has become a Swiss national dish loved by everyone in the locals. The famous term "potato cake divide" was even born, which describes the cultural differences between different language regions in Switzerland.

5. Zurich veal (Geschnetzeltes)

One of the traditional Dishes of Switzerland is the stir-frying of sliced or sliced beef with onions or mushrooms, cooked with white wine and cream, and served with traditional potato pancakes, which are local favourites.

6. Älplermagronen macaroni

A creamy roast dish made with potatoes, macaroni, cheese, cream and onions. The most important thing is to accompany the stewed apples.

7. Swiss chocolate

In the second half of the 19th century, Swiss chocolate was already famous abroad. Many famous chocolate brands have been born in this small country, including Toblerone (triangle chocolate), Caffarel, Fioretto, Chirardelli, Lindor, Lindt (Lindt) and so on
