On April 19, Audi's first concept car, a new Audi urbansphere concept car, was launched worldwide, which also has the largest interior space Audi has ever had, and adds the latest intelligent interconnection technology and digital services.
"In order to be closer to Chinese consumers, Audi's design teams in Beijing and Ingolstadt have always worked closely together to create this Audi urbansphere concept car." Dusman, chairman of the board of management of Audi AG, which is responsible for the Chinese market, said that this is also the first time that Chinese consumers have participated in the Audi vehicle design process.
Dr. Wen Zeyue, President of Audi China, said that the Audi urbansphere concept car fully demonstrates Audi's definition of China's future urban high-end mobility blueprint.
The Audi urbansphere concept car uses advanced autonomous driving technology, which also greatly promotes the transformation of the interior design of the vehicle. For example, it eliminates the traditional steering wheel, pedals and dashboard, and the layout inside the car is more open and spacious, becoming a mobile interactive space and seamless access to the digital ecosystem.
It is the largest of all Audi concept cars to date. The Audi Urbansphere Concept is 5.51 meters long, 2.01 meters wide and 1.78 meters high, with an extra-long wheelbase of up to 3.4 meters. The design of the door opening was adopted and the B-pillar was eliminated. When passengers get on the bus, the seats rotate outwards and a beam of lights lights up like a "red carpet", full of emotional ritual.
The Audi urbansphere concept has four independent seats with multi-faceted adjustment options. In relaxation and entertainment mode, the backrest can be tilted up to 60 degrees and the leg rest can be extended simultaneously. In addition, passengers can rotate their seats for face-to-face conversation. During autonomous driving, the steering wheel, pedals and conventional instrument panels can be hidden, greatly enhancing the sense of space and freedom in the interior space.
At the heart of the Audi urbansphere concept drive system is 800-volt charging technology. Thanks to this technology, in the fast charging station, only ten minutes of charging is enough to increase the cruising range of more than 300 kilometers. In addition, the WLTP has a range of up to 750 km.
