Due to multiple factors such as the epidemic and chip shortages, the BMW Group delivered a total of 596,907 vehicles (including BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand models) in the first quarter, of which the sales volume of pure electric vehicles reached 35,289 units, an increase of 149.2% year-on-year. Mr. Gao Le, President and CEO of BMW Group Greater China, said that electrification is one of the main priorities of the BMW Group at present, and five pure electric vehicles will be supplied in the Chinese market this year. A week ago, the new BMW i3 tailored for the Chinese market was just released, and the BMW i7 will soon usher in the world premiere. In addition, BMW will also launch pure electric versions of models such as the 5 Series, 7 Series and X1. By the end of 2025, the BMW Group plans to deliver a total of 2 million pure electric vehicles.
