BYD Han EV is the star of this market, is one of the three musketeers of pure electric cars at the same price, and everyone often discusses: Tesla Model 3, Xiaopeng P7 and BYD Han EV should be how to choose?
BYDHan EVs start at 214,800 and high-performance all-wheel drive versions start at 284,500. The bydir Han DM-i, which recently opened pre-sale, has a pre-price of 216,800 yuan for a single motor and a pre-price of 322,800 yuan for a dual-motor DM-p model.
Everyone knows that DM-i is plug-in hybrid, but its pricing has been flush with the high-end flagship pure electric Han EV, BYD's pricing is too confident? Or does Han DM-i have big technical highlights?
Let's first look at the DM-i technology that is now widely used in Qin, Song Pro, PLUS, MAX and other models, they are exactly the same set of systems, the pursuit of fuel economy, power in the tram is a general level, 100 km/h acceleration of 7.9 seconds.
This system adopts the combination of Xiaoyun-plug-in hybrid special 1.5L engine + EHS electric hybrid system, with a maximum torque of 135N·m for the engine, a maximum torque of 325N·m for the motor, and a comprehensive maximum power of 173kW. Keep in mind that the 1.5L engine here is naturally aspirated.
The BYD DM-i is almost identical to the Honda i-MMD technology structure. In the city, under low-speed conditions, the fuel engine is only responsible for driving the generator to generate electricity, driving the vehicle completely on the electric motor, and when accelerating, it requires a large amount of power to be provided by the battery pack for a short time.
Compared with ordinary hybrids, which often need to switch between fuel engines and motors, DM-i technology will be smoother because it has been driven by electricity in the city, and it will be much smoother and more comfortable than hundreds of thousands of oil vehicles.
However, on the new Han DM-i, a new DM-i system is enabled
The first is the upgrading of the fuel engine, no longer a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine (numberED BYD472QA), but a brand new 1.5T turbocharged engine (number BYD476ZQC). The maximum power is increased to 102kW and the maximum torque is 231Nm.
Although it is not eye-catching to look at the data of the 1.5T turbo engine, it is important to know that this engine is mainly used for power generation, and efficiency is more important than power. Technologies such as variable-section turbocharging/direct injection in the cylinder/VVT/Miller cycle/ultra-low friction are utilized.
Even it has eliminated the pulley, and accessories such as air conditioning compressors and water pumps have been driven separately by electric motors. Variable-section turbocharging, in particular, is the highlight.
In addition, the gearbox is also brand new, BYD calls it the EHS electromix system, and the structure is almost the same as the Honda i-MMD.
In addition, another upgrade of Han DM-i is to greatly increase the battery capacity of hybrid special power blades.
The pre-price of 216,800 yuan han DM-i uses an 18.3kWh battery, which is the same as the previous DM-i system.
However, the DM-p model with a pre-price of 322,800 yuan uses a 37.5kWh battery, and BYD claims that the NEDC pure electric endurance has been greatly increased to 242km, which is double the previous DM-i pure electric endurance.
When a plug-in hybrid model has a pure electric range of more than 200km, because it can also refuel without mileage anxiety, most of the time you can use it as a pure electric vehicle. Of course, it is emphasized that only DM-p models with a pre-price of 322,800 yuan have this endurance.
Performance-oriented is called Han DM-p, and economic orientation is called DM-i. Dm-i systems are all front-drive single-motor, and the four-wheel drive DM-p adds a rear-drive motor on the basis of DM-i. And the rear motor power is up to 200kW and 350Nm.
The addition of the Han DM-p motor makes its 100 km/h acceleration faster than pure electricity, exceeding the 3.9 seconds of Han EV and reaching 3.7 seconds!
One problem that cannot be ignored is that the Han DM-p accelerates faster under the exact same dual motor power as the Han EV, which proves that its body is lighter. BYD did not announce the weight of the Han DM-p, but the EV version is as high as 2170kg.
The lighter weight of the car also makes the sportiness of the Han DM-p a benchmark for BYD's entire range of models.
Dm-i has added one more power system than the pure electric version, and it also needs to increase the tedious operation of changing fuel vehicles such as oil. Of course, over time, pure electric vehicles with a large number of batteries and more complex thermal management will not be more worry-free than fuel vehicles.
The price of a plug-in hybrid model is exactly the same as that of the pure electric version, and the cost performance is not high.
