But the problem lies in the specific operation.

Mr. W told me that if I wanted to take over the order, I would need to go with him to the dealership where he bought the car, and as long as it was me who paid the full amount, the Xiaopeng dealership would own the vehicle to my name. He said, "I've had a friend do this successfully."

With the same question in mind, I consulted second-hand sellers of other brands.

Tesla sellers told me that according to Tesla's regulations, the order transfer can not change the name of the first owner, he clearly wrote in the post: "The seller needs to pick up the car with himself, and then go through the transfer together." In order to prevent scalpers from "speculating on cars", Tesla has recently issued a "commitment letter not to resell", the official requires consumers who have placed orders to buy multiple Tesla vehicles once or more times not to resell vehicles within one year, otherwise they will pay a penalty of 20% of the fare of each car.

Zero run

Back to the truth, as one of the brands with a relatively large price increase, the order resale of zero running is not in the minority on the second-hand platform, so after learning about Xiaopeng and Tesla, I asked some sellers who transferred orders to zero running.

These sellers' statements are similar to those of Xiaopeng's previous sellers, asking buyers to come to the store with them and change orders after paying the balance.

In this regard, I also called some of the seller's local zero-run dealers, and two zero-run dealers in the two places told me that they had recently received a "no-order" notice from the manufacturer, and only allowed the transfer of orders between immediate family members.

In addition, one of the dealers suggested that I find the corresponding sales, maybe there is an "opportunity"; while another dealer said more bluntly, "You just need to find a way to provide a proof of kinship, and the car I bought here may have the possibility of transferring orders."

Therefore, the secret of whether the order can be transferred lies in the identification of "immediate family", and this determination can be said to be vague, and the dealer often does not have the ability to verify the authenticity of the proof.

(You all get it at this point, right?) But don't be distracted, this is just a statement of what we have investigated. We do not advocate scalpers, encourage orders from the official, so that it is more secure! )

To add that, in addition to the above brands, we found that BRANDS SUCH ASD, Ideal, and WEILAI also have many "transfer orders" posts on second-hand platforms.

The reason why BYD was not taken as a survey sample is because such brands themselves are not directly operated models, and terminal pricing is not stable.

Although the ideal also announced a price increase of 11,800, it will not be implemented until after April 1, so the impact on the current situation is not large. Even Weilai, which has not increased its price, also has the phenomenon of "transferring orders" on second-hand platforms. The need to take over such a transfer order is nothing more than hoping to spend money to "cut in line" and get the car in advance.

In any case, no matter what kind of motivation of the "scalper behavior" in the final analysis, it shows a problem, the current consumer demand for electric vehicles is huge, because there is demand to be profitable, which is the essence of the birth of scalpers.

Wait until the party will eventually win?

As pointed out in Xiaopeng's statement, "private transactions may produce any disputes or damages to rights and interests", so we will never recommend that you buy a car from a "scalper". Although the repeated price increases of manufacturers are very unpleasant, the existence of scalpers is more abhorrent in the long run, they disrupt the market and make the sale lose protection.

If you are not in a hurry to buy a car, I suggest that you may wish to do the "wait party" first, after all, the rise in the cost of battery raw materials is only temporary, and the price increase of new energy vehicles will not continue forever.
