"Journey to the West" is broad and profound, many details in it are worth recalling, there is a question that I don't know if everyone has thought about, that is, did the Buddha really know about the existence of Bodhi Ancestor? We all know that Grandmaster Bodhi is Sun Wukong's mentor, and it was he who taught Sun Wukong to be omnipotent in heaven and earth in a short period of time, and he broke into the Dragon Palace and made a big fuss in the Heavenly Palace. The so-called famous master is a high disciple, and in turn, the apprentice who has just debuted can be so powerful, which also shows the strength of the master. Such a powerful big man lives in the jurisdiction of Rulai, does Rulai know or not? Try to analyze a pot of porridge.
Bodhi Guru
Bodhi Ancestor is practicing in the Lingtai Fangzhi Mountain of West NiuheZhou, the main job is to teach apprentices, it can be said that his work site is a paradise, and Rulai is obviously in charge of West Niuhezhou, of course, Comrade Rulai is very immodest, in private he actually controls the four major continents, a pot of porridge suspects that his words have not been approved by the Jade Emperor, but saying that West Niuhezhou is under his control, there should be no objection, then the question comes, Bodhi Ancestor is living in Rulai's territory, Rulai knows his existence?
A pot of porridge believes that Rulai is known, and there are some details in the original book that can be corroborated. First, The Bodhi Ancestor is a very magical person, he is proficient in the three schools of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, and the family is proficient, even Sun Wukong's knowledge of Buddhist theory is very strong, even the Tang monks do not dare to underestimate him, even the disciples are like this, which can prove that bodhi ancestors have a great relationship with the Buddhist school. Maybe you don't believe it, let's first look at the original:
Sha Monk said, "Second brother, you also believe in him." The eldest brother coaxed Master to walk with a long talk. He knows how to get a stick, he knows how to preach there! Sanzang said, "Goku can goku and say that goku's solution is a wordless word but a true solution." ”
In the first part of the original work, when Sun Wukong and Tang Monk had a dispute when interpreting the Heart Sutra of Wuchao Zen Master, sha monk laughed at Sun Wukong for not knowing how to pretend to understand, while Tang monk said that Sun Wukong's Dharma attainment was very profound, so that Sha Monk should not denigrate Sun Wukong.
And who passed on Sun Wukong's Dharma attainments, of course, is the Bodhi Ancestor, it can be seen that the Bodhi Ancestor has a close relationship with the Buddha's sect, and Rulai is the head of the Buddha's sect, so it can be seen that Rulai and the Bodhi Patriarch know each other.
Second, do you remember what Grandmaster Bodhi said when he expelled Sun Wukong from his division? Let's revisit:
The ancestor said, "You are bound to be born badly." Depending on how you cause trouble and commit murder, you are not allowed to say that it is my disciple. If you say half a word, I will know that you will be skinned and filed to reduce your spirit to the Nine Shadows and teach you that you will not be able to turn over! ”
The meaning of this sentence is very clear, that is, Bodhi Guru wants to break off relations with Sun Wukong, and if the monkey reveals bodhi grandmaster's secret, he will suppress him in the Nine Shadows. And we know that the place of the Nine Shadows is the deepest part of the Difu, and since the Bodhi Patriarch dares to say so, it shows that he has the ability to put the monkey in that place for people to take care of, and the supreme leader of the Difu is the Jizo King Bodhisattva, and the use of the power of the Nine Shadows Must get the approval of the Jizo King Bodhisattva, which shows that the Jizo King Bodhisattva knows the Bodhi Ancestor, and is quite familiar with it, otherwise he would not agree to the Bodhi Ancestor arranging criminals in such a core post.
Monkey king
By the way, a small episode, that is, Sun Wukong is a monkey who only killed one kind of immortal, that is, the Nine Ghosts, why did his other immortals not move, but wanted to beat them up, because the monkey knew that if he really revealed Bodhi's whereabouts, he was suppressed in the Nine Shadows, and it was these ghost messengers who watched over him, so as soon as he saw them, he was angry and waved the golden hoop stick to kill them. In the third episode of the original work, the Bodhisattva king of Jizo mentioned this matter when he complained to the Jade Emperor:
Now there are flowers and fruits of mountains and rivers Liandong Heavenly Birth Demon Monkey Sun Wukong forced the fierce disobedience to the call. The divine powers defeated the Nine Ghost Messengers; the bully forces shocked the Ten Generations of Ci Kings.
Third, Bodhi Grandmaster knew that Sun Wukong would make a big fuss in the Heavenly Palace, and also insisted on teaching Sun Wukong all kinds of magic powers, and left his hands everywhere when teaching, if you carefully analyze Sun Wukong's magic powers, you will find that there are not many skills for mass destruction, but there are many skills for escaping and protecting the body, which obviously does not want the monkeys to have a big damage to the heavenly court.
To sum up, Bodhi Grandmaster knew Rulai Buddha and even the Jade Emperor, and the reason why he stayed in Fangzhi Mountain was actually to wait for Sun Wukong to arrive in order to teach him some skills to haunt the Heavenly Palace and protect The Tang monks. Of course, he could see Sun Wukong's past life, and he could also see Sun Wukong's future destination, and he actually did this in preparation for learning the scriptures, and of course the Buddha recognized him.
