What's the big deal? Because loose represents litigation, it means that there is a dispute between words and tongues. Bodhi Ancestor saw that Sun Wukong's personality was gradually revealed, and he was no longer the asexual monkey who "couldn't fight back and scolded and didn't return his mouth" before, so he did not hesitate to take him down the mountain.
It is also said that Rulai becomes a Buddha under the Bodhi tree, and Bodhi becomes sanctified under a pine tree. In his eyes, the pine tree is a symbol of the sacred, a manifestation of human nature. Sun Wukong's transformation into a pine tree is disrespectful to the spirit of the pine tree and a manifestation of arrogance.
Is this an interpretation of the original intent or an over-interpretation?
In the original book, the pine tree also appeared once. Tang Monk was preparing to leave the Tang Dynasty to go to the Western Heavens to learn the scriptures, and the disciples asked him when he would return, and he said that as long as the pine branches at the door were to the east, I would come back, otherwise, I would never come back.
Fourteen years later, the pine branches suddenly turned eastward, and the disciples ran out to take a look, and Tang Monk did indeed return.
This pine tree has become the messenger again.
It can be seen that in the original work, the pine tree does not actually have a specific direction.
So, why did Sun Wukong change into a pine tree and be picked up? The original book has already given the answer: there is no monkey statue at all, all frost-resistant snow branches.
That is to say, Sun Wukong only studied for three years, and the seventy-two changes were pure, which completely made people unable to see the authenticity and aroused the extreme envy of the brothers.
You know, Sun Wukong entered the door at the latest, when he first started, even walking and writing were taught by the brothers and masters, but by chance, he broke the mystery of the plate and learned the immortality technique and the seventy-two changes of the Bodhi ancestor.
Now, Sun Wukong's pine tree does not have any demon monkey statues, indicating that he has become a specific immortal qualification, why not make the brothers jealous?
Therefore, after Bodhi Guru took the other brothers away, he spoke to the monkey in his heart——
"This work, can it be shown off in front of people?" What if you see someone else having one, don't ask him? When others see you, they will beg you. If you fear evil but preach to him, if you do not preach to him, you will do harm, and your life will not be safe. ”
What Bodhi meant was that if you stayed, the masters would definitely want you to teach them, but if you couldn't teach, the brothers would surely harm you! So, you better go down the hill.
In order to prevent Sun Wukong from returning to the mountain, Bodhi even severed his master-apprentice relationship with him. It's not about picking him up, it's about protecting him!
