Of course, in the original work, there is also a case of the Erlang god surrendering to the bird, that is, the Nine-Headed Worm, with the cooperation of the Wheezing Dog, the Nine-headed Worm fled to the North Sea, which shows that the Erlang God is the natural nemesis of the Flying Bird clan.
Of course, Sun Wukong is very clear that it is only a matter of time before erlang god comes out to surrender to Dapeng, if he goes to please, Erlang god will not give face, but Sun Wukong did not do that, but directly found the Buddha, so why is this? There's a reason for that.

With the monkey so clever, you must have thought that Guanyin Bodhisattva already knew that Dapeng had a yin and yang two gas cylinder, so he prepared a life-saving millimeter for the monkey to crack, which shows that Dapeng is also found by the Buddha sect to make up for the disaster, the so-called bell must also be tied to the bell, you Dapeng is originally the Buddha sect to find help, of course, please come to deal with it.

As in real life, there are many different ways to solve the problem, we must choose the most beneficial to ourselves, just like Sun Wukong chose to come to surrender Dapeng and give Rulai face, can Rulai not be kind to Sun Wukong? Therefore, among the disciples of the Tang monks, only Sun Wukong can become a Buddha, which is probably also a reason.
