It was not that his strength had declined, not that he was the opponent of the monsters, but that after five hundred years of precipitation, he had matured. He knew that many of the yokai had backgrounds, and it was not only difficult to do all the work for them, but also could offend the big people behind the yokai.
This "maturity" of Sun Wukong is even more vividly reflected in the difficulty of Qingniu Jing.
Qingniu Jing is the mount of Daozu Taishang Laojun, with high mana and mastering the top magic weapon Kongo, not only defeating Sun Wukong, but also defeating a group of Heavenly Court masters he invited to help in the battle.

But what is interesting is that Sun Wukong did not ask Rulai to surrender to the Qingniu Essence in the Netherworld, but only asked Rulai to inquire about the background of the Qingniu Essence, why is this?
It is precisely because Sun Wukong knows that the Qingniu Essence has a tough backstage, if you ask Rulai to descend the demon, not to mention whether Rulai will agree, even if you agree, where is the owner of the QingniuJing? Xie Ling also had to tie the bell, so Sun Wukong asked Rulai for the background of the Qingniu Essence in order to ask for help from the owner of the Qingniu Essence.
Mount-based yokai such as the Qingniu Jing almost all have a tough backstage, so whenever they encounter a mount-faction yokai on the way to the scriptures, Sun Wukong often asks his master for help, but there is an exception.
The exception to this is Sai Tai Nian. Sai Tai Nian's body is a golden haired roar, which is the mount of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and after the netherworld, he went to the Zhu ZiGuo Qilin Mountain Badger Cave and swept away the Golden Sacred Palace Lady. The team came to Zhu Ziguo and clashed with Sai Tai Nian in order to rescue the Golden Sacred Palace Lady.
Since Sai Tai Nian is the mount of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and Guanyin Bodhisattva is also the escort of the great cause of taking the sutras, and often helps the sutra collection team, no matter from any point of view, Sun Wukong should immediately ask Guanyin Bodhisattva to descend the demon.
However, Sun Wukong never had the slightest intention of asking guanyin for help, and he had to surrender Sai Tai Nian with his own skills, and then Guanyin Bodhisattva came and took Sai Tai Nian away.
So, why did Sun Wukong, the surrender mount, often ask for help from his master, but surrender Sai Taiyi but not turn to Guanyin for help? We can see the hint from the six-eared macaque's difficulties and guanyin bodhisattva's words to Sun Wukong.
The six-eared macaque pretended to be Sun Wukong in an attempt to replace Sun Wukong in escorting tang monks to learn the scriptures, and Sun Wukong fought with him, but helplessly found that the fake Wukong not only looked exactly like him, but even had the same skills, so he had to come to the South China Sea and ask Guanyin Bodhisattva to distinguish between true and false.
Can Guanyin Bodhisattva distinguish between true and false Goku? Sun Wukong asked Guanyin Bodhisattva to open his eyes of wisdom to distinguish between true and false, and as you know, the reason why Rulai later distinguished between true and false Goku was precisely because of his eyes.
However, Guanyin Bodhisattva did not use his discernment to distinguish between true and false, and also said to Sun Wukong: "When you were an official worshiping Ma Wen and making a big fuss in the Heavenly Palace, the gods would recognize you, and you would go up to the realm to distinguish between the words." ”
That's a bit of a perfunctory remark. If the gods know Sun Wukong, they can distinguish between true and false, and doesn't Guanyin Bodhisattva know Sun Wukong? Why can't you tell the difference between true and false?
The wise Sun Wukong suddenly realized that Guanyin Bodhisattva was not unable to do so, but unwillingly. He had always believed that the calamities on the way to the sutras were all planned by Rulai, and Guanyin Bodhisattva was his helper to respond to his needs, but now he understood that Guanyin Bodhisattva was also one of the planners of the calamities.
After understanding this truth, Sun Wukong encountered more difficulties and almost did not ask Guanyin Bodhisattva for help. In Sun Wukong's view, it is nothing more than the planning of Guanyin Bodhisattva, so of course he cannot ask Guanyin Bodhisattva for help, where is the reason for the exam to ask for help?
